Hi All,

I am looking to get a barn for my tractor. I just need a small barn with 10' tall doors, 12' ceilings, 12' wide, and 30' deep.

I want something that looks nice. Any suggestions? Is it cheaper to get prefab?

Thank you,

Probably should just design and build it yourself, if you have the ability.
Depth sounds OK, but width should be greater if you have the space.

It's a good idea to put down a concrete floor besides being nice and level it's a good moisture barrier. Your gear will thank you. Bigger is always better believe me. My tractor lives under an awning 12 w x24 and sure there's plenty of room.......until I park anything in there. To work on mine, ALWAYS OUT IN FRONT OF GARAGE . Just not enough room to move around in there . If you can widen it up because you know you'll have goodies following it in there Looking for a home.
Some lumber yards offer free plans drawn up when you buy all the materials from them. Myself I like tin on purlins because tin is easy to handle and align alone and there's little or no painting.

If you got the time do it yourself that way it will be as you want, and there always the future for more goodies.

Yes, I agree...12' is not wide enough.

How about 20' wide 30' deep with sliding doors?

Anyone used pre-fab or modular barns before? I wasn't planning on doing it myself. This way, it gets done in a week! I can put the concrete floor.

Concrete slabs typically run $5-$8 per square foot, so a 20' x 30' slab should be in the $3K - $5k range depending on what options you choose.

What State?
What Tractor?
What Else will be in your building?
What Budget?

I see you're from the Northeast. Have you checked local building codes for concrete floor requirements? Some area's require you pour a full frost wall below the front line, no more "floating" concrete slab... At least that's how it is in my area.

Just food for thought if you're trying to put a budget together...

great point gdk.

What is the cheapest and fastest way to create a barn just for tractor and tools? Would gravel floor be fine? I can put a foot-deep gravel.

This is what I have. It is gravel, This barn was about $5000. built in a day. It is a Carolina Carport. It is 14x30. I wish it was wider.
