Morning sig, the difference with chew is that it only affects the person chewing (well, unless they are spitting on the floor:eek: )

I am surprised you can chew at the airport though.

What I hate is the new plastic tubes. (Guess I'm showing my age) You could roll the old metal tubes up from the bottom as you went along but the new plastic tubes will not stay rolled up and the toothpaste migrates back to the bottom.:(

Bet we don't get any controversy with this topic.:D

I don't know where she got it, but the wife supplied me with a plastic thingy the slips on the bottom of the tube. You slide it up as you use up the stuff. Works great.

The only place where I saw it was "illegal" to chew was at a hospital in High Point, N.C. On the signs, it also speciffically (sp?) mentioned chewing tabacco.

Philly, Atlanta, Charlotte, Durham (some small airport I forget the name in New Hampshire), Las Vegas, Dallas Ft Worth are all airports that I had no issues with chewing tabacco. Heck, you can even do it on the airplane.

Chewing is a nasty habit, may be worse than smoking, but you're correct, other than the "by product" (which I could never learn to swallow), it's very "low key" and affects no one other than yourself.

Now, when you have a half full coke bottle used as your spit cup, and a regular coke bottle filled with coke sitting side by side in the car, and you're driving, and by mistake you take a nice big swig from your spit cup thinking that it's your "regular coke", well, I don't think smokers come across that problem:D

Yep, the only thing worse is when a co-worker takes the big swig from the another's wrong coke, then it is worse than smoke!

I think you might find that untrue for at least most of major airlines if you read their ban on all tobacco products. My wife is a flight attendant and has to remind people all the time.

By the way, airlines are an example of the owners of a business making the decision to be tobacco free without government regulations. You can still smoke on a charter plane if those chartering it so choose. The government allows military personal to smoke and receive second hand smoke on their charters. Go figure. Many think the smoking ban on planes was to look out for the health of its passengers or for safety reasons. Actually it was to save fuel because with the air scrubbers running it used more fuel. Now we don’t add fresh air to the plane and just recirculate the exotic diseases from around the world.

Must be a different Government and military then I have been associated with this past 20 years or so.

No smoking in government buildings, or vehicles. And if it is leased or chartered that would apply as well.

Not to say it does not happen, but it is not supposed too, from several fronts.
