Snake in house - how do I find it to get rid of it?

Coffeeman, You found a 3' snake skin. Every time a snake sheds his skin he gets BIGGER..!! So you probably willn't have any problem finding him now becuase he's probably about 6' long now!!

I thought I might leave garage door open for a few hours. Maybe snake would leave. Probably, though, a friend of his would come in to visit.
I don't know what to try first. I have considered so far from suggestions on other posts here:

I’ll bet you never find him because he is gone. That snakes doesn’t want anymore to do with you than you do with him. Without a food and water source he’ll just find his way out.

Don't keep us in suspense. What's the latest update on the snake hunt?

So far I have taken all things from storage room. Have plugged some holes and put out the glue traps to see if snake rolls over it. Want to know if it's there. No sign of him so far.

We have a cleaning lady who comes on Friday. Her first question, "What kind of critter do we have?" She saw the stuff all around and bottoms of doors with rugs stuffed under. I told her a snake, maybe. Don't bother her. She said, "I didn't like the bats a few years ago. (Remember, I had bats a few times.) "I don't like things that fly at me." she said. "The snake I can jump over."

The wife is ok about it. I mentioned to her about getting a mouse from pet store and using a trap and the mouse as bait. Good way to catch snake if he's still there. So get this; she thinks I shouldn't do that. She wouldn't want to hurt a mouse that way. Now if that mouse was running around the house it would be, "get the trap. Why isn't the poison out to stop these things?" So... I'm caught in between.....

This Tue I'm going to have new shelving put in storage room and search around garage better. I have some spots to look in and some holes to patch. Of course I have lots of Snake Stop left to sprinkle around. I think it works on elephants too. I haven't seen any elephants around since I started using that stuff.

Ya wouldn't want him to escape!
3* If it's mean enough to scare off an elephant it should be a push over on a snake.

i think that snake stop stuff is mostly the same stuff moth balls or crystals are made out of?? just last week, i killed the biggest copperhead i have ever seen, within a couple feet of the garage door, "inside" the garage..i don't know if he was going in or out?? i bought more mothballs the next time i went to the store and spread them around again..
good luck: i don't like snakes!!!

Snake Stopper is clove, cedar and cinnamon.

I sure hate them snakes too. Rats are a close second. Maybe right up there even with snakes.
