This time a harmless Green Tree Snake

Unfortunately didn't look too harmless when 3' of brown/yellow snake is slithering around just in front of me as I stepped down into the garage on my way to the car.

So I had to whack this one, just to find out what it was.

Honestly, I don't see the need to kill them, but in the heat of the moment it is hard to tell what it is. Sure wasn't the last one I identified and was bigger, and WAS IN THE HOUSE so I guess his number was up.

Yuk

Scary thing is we keep all the doors in the garage closed, and open them for only short periods, so now it has me worried that maybe they get in under the doors???

Aggghhhhhh /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

FYI- If the snakes are not poisonous to you, why bother with them? They might be doing you a service by helping keep the rodent, frog, insect populations down. You also might need to pay more attention to critters that do kill a lot of people every year, like bees, wasps and spiders and such. Very few people (if any) die from snake bites in the US each year, but many people die from insect stings.

Happy

yes my thoughts exactly, but the problem is there are a lot of really bad snakes around here too. And I don't want to get up close and personal with every snake just to check if it is a good or a bad snake.

My wife wouldn't ever go into the garage if I were to say to her "Oh by the way dear, there is a snake in the garage which I left there. I am not sure if it is a tree snake or a venomous Brown Snake but I thought I'd leave it there anyway"

Cheers
