Snobs moving to the country

There's been a no. of new people move in over the years on the country rd. between my place and the highway. I wave to all of them and found that after the 3rd or 4th time I get a smile and a way back.

Shoot... I even plow the driveways of my neighbors who have " Make America Great Again " signs in the yard...:D

Lead by example!!!!

City guy moved in down the road. Suddenly the road had burnouts starting at his driveway.

While turning a tractor into a pasture his wife went on the grass to fly around me with one hand on the horn and the other giving me the finger.

We got one of Western NY Snowbelt 3' of wet heavy snow. He was screwed, with no equipment and the bank at the road was easily 6' high.

I went by to do my mother inlaw and blew his place out, including the mailbox on my way back.

We had a talk. He waves now, burnouts have stopped, (don't poop where you live), my kids still think his kids are 'most likely to shoot up the school' but otherwise he's learning.

Good for you. Living in the country can be a learning curve. Sounds like they are learning.

I would have pulled the neighbor out and had a friendly talk w him. If that did not change things then next time he is on his own.

You guys need to get of your high horse.

People of all types, smart, dumb, kind, and just plain jerks. May find it hard to believe, but you'll find all types in both the city or country. Clint prime example of being the latter, being a "country boy" mind you because he didn't want to help because he wasn't "recognized".

The only time people trespassed on my property, guess where they were from? Not the city. All the beer cans on my local roads aren't coming from the people the moved in from the city as well.

Try living in the city. Life is definitely more fast pace, and yes, you can't be as neighborly, but it's the nature of living in a large city (try waving or saying hello to everyone you meet in the subway, and you'll never get to work on time).

That said, our family trip to DC this past year, there were a bunch of friendly people we met, both in and out of the subway system (some who even actually helped us, and they were from the city, not visiting from the country:laughing:).

Just because you live in the country doesn't automatically make you a nicer or better person. You have to work at it...
