Since most of the East Coast now has the snow to use bigger snow removal devices, I thought I'd go look for some snow removal solutions.

Here are a few that I have found./forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Also, there is a movie showing a big solution in action. This beast cleared about 100 ft long * 10 ft wide * 6 ft high in less than 1 minute. Go to the bottom of the page and select the text "Watch a video!" Link to "Watch a Video" (at the bottom)

What the heck was the unit in that video!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif That was awsome!!!

I'm suprised it didn't suck the camera person in as he was filming.

I would like to be a fly on the neighbors wall when they see that unit coming off the trailer to your house. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( I know you probably can't trailer it )

I like those runway plows too.

I'd love to have that thing, but we don't get enough snow in SE Michigan. Most of our snows are 4 to 6 inches, so I use a blade.

Sure would be fun though...

A fellow farmer on the other side of town has an airport blower on the rear of his Steiger. I've seen it in action and 2 passes will clear a road and it don't matter how deep the drifts are. I don't know the make but it has an 8' throat, 2 feed augers and a fan about 5 feet in diameter. I believe the Steiger is making about 175 pto and he really pushes the machine. When he's working the blower hard, the turbo is just screaming, the snow is going out of sight and he has a lot of friends. Last season he threw a cinder block through the roof of his greenhouse. I asked him if he felt it and he said no, but he heard it and saw the glass and frames flying.

I have a 72 Woods I run on the back of my 50pto 'bota and I have learned to be careful where you point the spout or you'll be calling your insurance man. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Daryl,

I see by your bio & web page that your just a little south of me. Percherons are beautiful animals!

I really wish we could get enough snow to keep my 5 hp blower busy. I bought it when I was in 5th grade 1970's, but haven't really needed it for the last few years. It seems the weather systems stay just south of us.
