snow depth limit for my tractor

In pic 3 (from left) is the pin (with the wire on it) in the curved piece what prevents rotation of the blade?

Geez, the frame certainly looks beefy enough to take the loads. Is there much flex when pushing a heavy load or with a load on one side of the blade? You weld like me...not pretty but very solid(smile).

Thank you for the pics. I have seen a few plows just like that for sale here and wondered how to adapt them to a tractor. Do you think it could overload your loader arms?

Wade, yes the pin is what keeps the blade from rotating, I have only pushed snow with it, haven't noticed anything as far as flex. I have pushed some heavy wet snow and had the snow a good 8 feet ahead of the plow moving along with the full blade. As long as the banks aren't frozen I can move them back with no problem. I normally angle the blade and roll all the snow to one side of my driveway, when it gets built up enough I push it all back, done that twice so far this winter. Really shouldn't be any differn't than a full bucket of sand/gravel. Danny

I like your setup, simple and quick and the results speak for themselves. gotta be better than using the bucket which I did this winter, got the job done, but kinda slow. I am tired of snow.

I agree with everything you said. I just bought a motorcycle yesterday so I'm now officailly awaiting the disappearance of the snow. It has been a great winter tho.

I think my bucket is smaller than your's, at 50 inches. I may have to trim some material from the edges of the blade so i don't apply too much load on one of the arms. Nothing a mini grinder can't handle. Angling the blade and rolling the material to the side really takes a big part of the load off the supports.

I think I'll start looking in the spring when the price of the blades will drop or more become available.

Years ago i made a blade from scratch for a lawn tractor I wanted to push snow with. It worked great and was very easy to build. I've got my welding machine back now so i can stick some metal together.

I bought a 2006 harley sportster. It has 27 000 miles on it but the price was good. I was looking at a 2010 honda shadow rs but the price of the harley was good. I'll leave it at the shop until mid march.
You have a great looking bike and Honda are great bikes, some of the best in the world. It looks like you've done some long trips.
I plan to go to New Brunswick in May and probably all over Nova scotia during the summer. I also really enjoy kayaking so I plan to scope out kayaking spots on the bike.
