I suppose it depends on how much snow you need to relocate, and what sort of areas you need to clear. In 2010, we had 24 inches of snow on the ground, which is a lot for Delaware. It was more than my equipment could handle in any reasonable time, and I had to get my lady friend down my 400 ft. driveway and to the airport. I hired a guy with a 4 wheel drive Kubota , about the same size as that of the original poster. It had a bucket on the FEL, which seemed to be just a bit wider than usual, and which was about the same width as the rear tires track. He had no trouble pushing , or more like blasting, his way down my driveway. In about three passes , he had everything nicely cleared, and he didn't even dig up the driveway. I was impressed, and for this area, nothing bigger or fancier would be needed. I think the 4 wheel drive made a big difference, vs. my 2 wheel drive tractor. ( I did warn him, however, about those ditches on both sides of the road out front, but I guess he forgot. He got his tractor temporarily stuck in one ditch, and his trailer stuck in the other. But, we got him out eventually, about midnight. )

Its always a good idea to have markers along a road that has ditches.
Space them about 50 feet or so apart, I make my own, much cheaper.:)

You just have to try it, kco has a nice setup IMO.
Not all tractors can handle a rear pull, you need weight and power, if you have those, then there's no looking back;)

Agreed. We set one up last year on a New Holland TL100A Deluxe. Could NOT be happier. Going to add at least one more for next year.

The Boss plows have a single acting cylinder with a spring return to V. I am not sure if there would be an easy way to plumb it. That and other reasons made Fisher the best choice.

Eddie, I have a Boss V-plow that I'm thinking of adapting to a JD 1070. Couldn't I use different double acting cylinders and eliminate the spring return?

Jerry, it will work. 15 years ago i worked on the shop floor for a truck equipment company and we did it several times. We ran belt driven pump, for the boos plow and sander on a one ton. We even built one with a boss plow and a wing. Then I was just given the stuff and mounted it. I don't no squat about a JD 1070 so I have some questions:
1) Are you removing just the bucket?
If so does your bucket/lift arm have the skid steer style quick attach skid steer mounting plate?
2) Do you have aux hydraulics at the end of your lift arm?

No, my plan is to remove the entire FEL and build a mount just for the plow. My loader frame goes on and off pretty easy. And I'd have to bring new hoses back to the outlets.

If you used the spring return you could use your fel hydraulics and i don't believe you would need a manifold. Bucket tilt would be left right, then up down on the plow. Then if you found the spring return slow you could rethink the hydraulics. With your long straight drive spring return might work. Even if i was doing it I would try it that way first.

Would not work here. The built up compacted snow under the wheel tracks will prevent clearing the snow down to the road level.
