Very good point Wayne. Never thought of that but there would be no reason for a seal other than to keep out dirt and moisture. I will try to clean them up.

Thanks

Well, here is a update. Got it back from the sand blasters and found a few cracks but welded them right up and got it in primer. I also painted the entire A-Frame and made a templet to get the steel cut and rolled. I also ordered all the steel for the new loader mount.

As for the cylinder I can get new ones for about $49 each so I think I will go that way. I am also in the process of adding a circuit to my tractor to operate the left/right operation of the plow.

Update time again.

I got the steel for the loader mount all welded up yesterday. Have a few items to add like a trailer hitch receiver and some hooks. Anyway I am ordering new hydro cylinders and going to weld on the 11ga sheet metal to the frame and get it in paint by the end of the week.

Snow is on the way so got to get ready.

More pictures to come!

Where are you getting the cylinders from? I have a similar project to get done (sooner than I wanted from the looks of the weather) and may need new cylinders.

There are many place but you should look at your local plow shop and at Ebay.

Well here is a update as of Friday. I got everything welded up including the new plow mount that attaches to the FEL all in 1/4" wall steel and put the new 11ga metal on the plow frame. I then primered everything and put the plow in yellow paint and everything else in black. The cutting edge is new and is painted black but not pictured. I am going to order a Meyer Decal Kit today so it will look like new. I have the shoes ordered along with new plow marker sticks from Northern Tool. I just now need to get the angle cylinders purchased and installed along with the hydro lines back to the remote valve for left and right movement.

As you can see on my plow to FEL mount I added a 2" receiver hitch tube and tubes to add shoes if needed to keep it off the ground if I have the FEL in float.

Thanks to others who have done this project for getting me motivated. I am ashamed to say I used the plow last year simply clamped to my FEL Bucket and had it pin to angle right. I had no hydraulics set up at that time.

I just started working on mine. The pictures attached are how I got the plow. I plan on welding the ss q/a plate directly to the frame as far forward as I can without interfering with the max angle of the plow.

First thing I did was take apart the mold-board from the frame so I could get to the cracked bushing. I got it all out with my 4 1/2" angle grinder.

Someone has also made a mess of the bushing on the mold-board too. It has several cracks in it as well.

I got the rams out, and they need new hoses for sure. They only have a small amount of pitting. They leak past the seals though. I am leaning towards one double-acting ram and welding up some new linkage.

Interesting "vents" on that plow-never seen that before...Might be a good place to add lights?

I have no idea what the plow was on originally. I don't see it being a problem, but I could always weld a patch over it.
