Great photo's, John, thanks for sharing them. My wife and I grew up in snow country, but we've only seen occasional mild snows since moving to the Carolinas 18 years ago. Call me wierd, but I do miss it!

I'll bet it gets a bit cold up there on that open-air JD, but it sure looks like it gets the job done!

Hi Grandad,

Actually, when you dress layered… you could probably sleep outside in this weather… ~mid 20’s… you’re constantly moving around and you stay warm… but my waterproof boots… are another story… (wearing Carhartt and long john’s are mandatory though /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif)

At the end of the night… my socks were sopping wet… that’s when it starts affecting ya when they’re no longer waterproof… need some more chemical treatment… /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

I’ll try to get some pictures of the snow problem’s down in the city… that mess looks like a war zone…/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

...are they reflectors, or actual lights? ...

Hi Bob,

Yes... and Yes... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Along the ROPS are vertical strips of reflective tape and you see the horizontal mounted directional/caution lights on the outside of the ROPS...

My two floods on the inside of the ROPS I had turned off... when I use the flash from the camera, the reflective tape is just strutting it's stuff... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

John, you need a pair of solid rubber, one piece insulated farm boots like I wear to some of our auctions. Nothing better in the snow! I wear them all year when doing farm work, and I wear them out in a year. They're hard to find, QFF used to carry them, but TSC doesn't. I had a hard time finding them this year, but found them in Walmart, of all places. And I bought two pairs, so I don't have to search for them next year!

Hi Richie,

One of my problems are my size 13 boots are hard to find... let alone to find some boot rubbers to fit over them... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

John, these aren't rubbers that go over boots, but the whole boot that you put your foot in. Check out Walmart, I found two size 12's, there might be some size 13's hiding in there!!/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

When its really wet out, I wear cement workers' boots over my bedroom slippers with a pair or two of wool socks. Really warm. Only problem is if you have to walk alot, the socks might bunch up. But for tractor work and short shifts behind a manual shovel, like doing the steps, they work great.

I got a nice pair of rubber insulated boots at Dick's Sporting Goods - have never had cold feet with them and I only wear my regular socks.
