Hi KidKioti-----We live near Mifflintown, which is only about 45 miles away from you. Good luck with your 25, they are great tractors. With those rear chains you should have a wicked snow-plowing machine.

I'm also in Pa, but the west central part. We do get sizeable snowfalls, we're high up on the alleghenies, in fact not far from me there is a sign on I-80 that states "highest point on I-80 east of the Mississippi".

.:D

You really live in a beautiful part of the state. I travel close to that section of I-80 when I attend a bird dog field trial at DuBois. It always seems to be snowing there when it's not snowing anywhere else. That Kubota cab should be just the ticket for you.

I use a 6' KK rear blade on my CK30HST here in far NW VA, also very long gravel steep driveway.

Worked great last year in up to 20" of snow.

I had good rear chains on last year but didn't really need them so I took them off. I'll put them on again if things get icy.

Mike

Enjoyed and appreciated your input very much as well. I take it that the KK rear blade you have is the Kioti 6' blade?? Were you able to plow the full 20" snow at one time going forward with your CK30HST or did you have to make a couple of passes?? Sounds encouraging and just what I'm looking for. My Old Ford 850 would get bogged down going forward in much less amounts. The snow would stack up and pull it off to the side of the driveway. End up plowing & looking backwards and that is not any fun anymore for this senile citizen. A few very steep inclines & curves in lane so I will probably need the chains. Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your story & photos. Is that one of those new fangdangled heated cabs. Way to go. Guess I'll have to put one on the Christmas list with the rest of the stuff & not hold my breath.

The cab is from Sims / Cab Depot and has heat and glass windows front and back both with windshield wipers. It only added about $2k to the price of the tractor and is well worth the money when the snow falls. Although, it looks like the prices have doubled since I got mine in 2005.

Hey KidKioti, yes could plow 20" of fairly wet snow on the level. You know I think at that point I had neglected to put it in 4WD also! 6' KK "Professional" blade.

I believe I know where you're talking about. I've seen the signs for the field trials.

I'm just waiting to get the MMM and FEL off and get the front blade on for some snow action.

Sounds like exit 18 Clearfield exit.
I've done some snowmobiling there at Elliot state park.

There are quite a few people who come to Elliott park for snowmobiling. It gets rather busy on a snowy saturday or sunday afternoon. I used to own a camp back past the park. sold it last year to a friend of mine. Two of my buddies have camps out there, one of them likes snowmobiling at Elliott as often as he can get out. Seems once the snow starts out there it doesn't leave till spring.

I live in north eastern pa( Sullivan county)and sometimes the winters can be a little nasty.Last year i took the bh off and used my rear box blade. This year i will use the loader bucket tipped up just a bit and it worked just fine.I usually spray the bucket first with wd40 to keep the snow from sticking.Hope the helps.:)

I was going to try to use the front bucket as well. My driveway is about 1/2 mile long and its all flat in the wood of Mifflinburg, Pa. I dont think I would need chains since I dont have any hills and we usually don't get any more then 4-6 in. of snow at any one time

Ken---You must have bought your Kioti at Hoover's? I was over on Sat buying an oil filter and they have quite a lineup. Got to sit in the new 90, what a beast that thing is.
