Snowplow that mounts on loader bucket?

Thomas is that on your tractor? I do have a blade (not sure where I got it from, but it is approximately 6' and has a old frame with it) and I was thinking of doing the same thing you did. Was worried about having the blade that far out infront of the bucket? Any other details?

Yes that's my little mule of 11 years.
I added weight box ooohhh about 150lbs and never had problem of the rear end being to lite.

The top pins I only use when scraping...tilt bucket to added down pressure on blade.

Little advice...attach piece of flat steel about 3/8" thick on the backside of the bucket for support to help out plow frame,also try have the back side of the plow rest against the corner of the bucket when the plow set at 45 degrees,for that will give support.

It's a Snowsport plow for a 2" receiver hitch with the angled interceptor (allows manual angling of the blade).

I mounted a truck bumper receiver hitch upside down in the bucket with some extra steel plates. The receiver is also handy for moving trailers or my winch with receiver mount and is easily removed in the summer with 4 bolts.

Thanks to everyone for providing information here. SeymourBota, that is a very elegant setup you have.

I got a chance to go outside today and fool around with the FEL to see how well it would clean the driveway of snow.. only an inch or so on the ground. It seemed to float along pretty well on the rocky drveway and might be enough to get me through this winter all by itself. Eventually though, I will need something that can plow to the side, and I think Im on the right track now, thanks to you all.

I had an old 7' truck plow and my quick attach FEL.
I bought a qa plate on the web and welded on the spring pins from the truck's plow mount.
I had my FEL controls swapped out for a 3 spool setup, the dealer cut me a break on the pricing.
**UPSIDE, I have a 7' steerable plow with trip edge on my FEL. I can use the FEL lift to push snow into some nice tall mountains.
**DOWNSIDE, it is too long and feels too heavy for my 3430. I make sure to not bounce it as much as possible.

Traction is fair without chains (burried somewhere by the barn) and 4x4 is a must now as most traction is from the heavily loaded front wheels.

We had a 2 - 3 foot accumulation of snow yesterday. Before dark, in the middle of this blizzard,I charged out into the field and retrieved this snowplow setup. I had hoped to leave it off this winter but after bending my scraper blade (no trip edge,right) yesterday I knew I needed to bring in the big gun!

I realize that it is sometime ago that you posted your comments about mounting a snow plow on your Kubota 3530. I am interested in your comment about the plow being a little too much for the tractor. I've got an L35 and I'm thinking about converting it to skid steer quick tach to enable me to use a skid steer snow plow. I think my tractor is quite comparable to yours and I would appreciate any advise you might offer about trying to plow snow with this tractor. thanks!

If you are asking me, I encourage the QA for these tractors for many reasons.

If you are only going to plow snow as the justification for a QA setup, I would suggest a simpler alternative:
Two welded attachment points inside the back of your bucket can take a used truck plow easily.
My friend with an L3400 used that solution with an old Meyers plow for years.
Crude, simple,and very effective.

If you are going to go the QA path, look hard at what folks have done to pull the plow in tighter to the tractor. Mine remains way out front in it's standard configuration. It is too far out front to angle much as that provides too much steering force. It plows fine for moving snow in a straight line but could be better with regards to steering.

I have another plow and frame which I hope to convert into a nice custom tightly mounted QA plow for the future...

Due to the lighter gauge construction of compact tractors, I do not believe it is a good idea to attach a plow to the bucket.

I decided to remove the bucket, and make a frame to attach the plow directly to the loader arms.

Ideally, you need an attachment that allows the plow to move up or down some, and also rotate a few degrees, so it can follow the terrain.

I would convert it to quick attach and get a plow for it or adapt one from a truck.
