Snubbed because of my Kubota hat?

Went to the fair the other day and had on my new Kubtoa T-shirt to see if i could get a remark or two. It said " Nothing runs like a DEER unless chased by a Kubtoa" Only had one guy ask me where I got my shirt, thought he might be upset and asked him if he had a problem with it. No, he said he just bought his wife a BX and wanted one for her.

That shirt is funnier (and makes more sense) when Kioti is the tractor chasing JD but to each his own. All I know is you need to be in front to be chased!

How do you know they snubbed you because of the hat. Maybe they thought you were an idiot. Just cause they said look at the guy in the orange hat does not mean they were making fun of you because of the hat:laughing:

LOL Good one Brian. I'm sure they did think I was an idiot..for wearing a Kubota hat to a vintage tractor (predominately JD) show.

I'm sure they spent alot of time restoring those tractors and talking about good old pre war American Iron. I respect that and see where they're coming from. I disrespected them in thier house, so-to-speak. Sort of like you did to me in my thread...only mine was inadvertant. :laughing:

Oh yeah it was! I've noticed both Harley and John Deere fans are pretty rabid....what cracks me up is the ones with logos all over their stuff and they own neither:confused2:

Recently I noticed a lady that I go to church with had a deere tag on her car. I asked if her husband had a deere tractor. She looked at me funny and said the tag was popular. I own a deere mower and a Mahindra tractor and those are the only things I own with either name printed on it. Besides a deere tag would be made of the same plastic the hoods are made of

I look at it like this, this is America we can own any brand we want, many people snub drivers of foreign cars tractor bike ect. one beind my father in law, he hates that I own a kubota, but I cant get it thru to him that most tractors have some foreign parts on them **** I know many new hollands have foreign motors and many of the new ones are stamped "made in italy" and these are the big boys there is 3 T5040's at my local NH dealer now like this.

I own what I want to own because I love Kubota's and as far as a Honda amongst Harleys I welcome anybody who rides a bike for the freedom, I admit I wouldnt own anything but my Harley Nightrain but that is just my personal choice, although some bikers are not as easy to get along with as I am

I have a 61 IH Cub Loboy that i have restored and I belong to a local farm machinery club, I got my BX 2230 6 months ago, I wear my Kubota hat just as much as i wear my IH hats, ive had a few comments about it, usually in jest, but once it was a little to smart, i simply stated that if any of the "american" companys actually built a subcompact in this country I would probably have bought it, but they dont, so i got my kubota which has been a fantastic help around my small farm !

A friend of mine in southern Ohio switched from Deere to Kubota about 8 yrs ago. He's a loyal green guy, and kubota gave him his best deal for his green money.

I was one of those that wanted a deere when I started shopping a couple of years ago. Granddaddy farmed with green tractors and green was the color a tractor was suppose to be. As I started researching I discovered 25 to 35 hp deere tractors were not American made and seemed to have a lot of plastic. Only the color was the same as Granddaddy's tractor. Then I started shopping for the best bang for the buck and ended up with a used Mahindra. Don't claim it's the best brand but to date it has served me well.

JD, I was gonna give you major props for that statment until I realized how most things being chased are rather undesirable; rats, mice, cockroaches, pedophiles, bank robbers, etc.... Run, Deere, Run!

Those old timers probably give new JD CUT & SCUT owners down the road too as they know from whence those machines come from too
Although it's not a very sociable way to be, some folks are just, well they're just not sociable to those not like them. (I know it's was one of those epiphany's )
I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.
You'll know true tractor folk by the diversity of their machinery. Theres been far too many great machines over the ages to be just singled out in one particular brand or model although the Ford 2/9/8N and Ferguson TE/TO20/30 tractors were great when they 1st hit the market and are still earning their keep, some 60 yrs later
