Snubbed because of my Kubota hat?

When the guys come to work on the farm, all the major brands are in use. Some years it's blue, most years it's green. The farm owner is orange. The interesting thing is the hats are all John Deere, including mine whose companion hat is the NRA. I'd like to get a PeTA hat, but would rather have it AetP.

The kool thing is, these guys know all about tractors. They have no problems pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the brands to the tasks at hand. I imagine if one brand was the king, it would show itself *every time* for *every task*.

About 7 years ago I went hunting for a tractor, well actually a lifetime mower. Farmers told me a small 4wd would pull a bigger 2wd. Of course I went to JD first and got a price of a SCUT. Then NH and then Kubota. The JD was $3000 more than the Kubota and the NH was $2500 more than the Kubota. Guess which one I bought (BX2200, FEL MMM) and then ended up buying 10 more Kubotas over the years. I was color blind but now only see Orange because of the money.
Barlows started giving me hats when I'd buy a tractor. One time they gave me a couple of hats so the next tractor was 3 hats and the next 4 hats and the next 5 hats, etc until the last two Kubotas which are a F3080 and a BX25. I've got so many Kubota hats that I asked them to just give me one each of any new style they had.
Garys now bad mouthing me for telling about Barlows giving a hat with a tractor purchase. Guess he'll be packing hats for shipment for a few days.
PS I've taught my Grandkids that Orange pulls Green.

When I moved to Missouri and got plates for my truck, I received only 1 which was to be displayed on the front of the truck. That left a gaping hole in my rear bumper, so I covered it with a JD plate I had laying around.
A year and a half later I purchased my Kubota package. The dealer must have had a good laugh when they hooked up Orange so close to a Green plate. Nothing was said though, and I didn't notice the "conflict" until I got home.

I think I picked up the hat requirement from TBN oh so many years ago. I always ask for a hat on new tractor purchases.

I like the embroidered ones the best!

Just like the Yanmar diesel that they probably have in that "made in USA" Deere.

My neighbor, a John Deere 5103 owner, was kidding me about my Kubota and needing to "buy USA". I had already looked up his John Deere right after he bought it and determined the whole tractor is made in India. I was waiting for the opportunity, and he gave it to me. He would not believe it until he looked it up himself. We haven't had that conversation any more. Many JD owners still think their tractors are all made in Moline IL and don't want to hear any different. ...From the John Deere site...

I live in a very small town. I am not native to the area. When I moved there our kids were still in school. I was very active in the community coaching baseball, youth football trying to fit in. We were treated like lepers. Oddly enough when I bought my kubota all that changed. I was actually invited to the Saturday morning gathering of farmers at the only diner in town. This is a big honor. Now for some reason people wave and stop to talk...who knew?

but no one has said a word.
