Second time out with my backhoe mounted. I have to lower the boom on the hoe about 6" to get the tractor in the garage. Once inside I can raise it again. I was concentrating on that so hard, I forgot to lower the ROPS. I didn't do much damage, just bent the flashing in two place where the ROPS touched, but then after lowering the ROPS, getting the tractor inside, and raising the boom back into the stow position, I forgot to lower the transport hook/lock for the hoe. Must have been distracted from ROPS mishap. Anyway, next morning I walk into the garage and the boom on the hoe has settled causing the stick and SMV sign to rest against the water heater in the garage. I jumped on the tractor, started it up and retracted the boom to find that the SMV sign broke off as well (just a pipe clamp), from pushing on the water heater. Outside of heater had a nice dent, but otherwise nothing was really hurt. Have been planning on replacing the electric water heater with a gas tankless version anyway. After I build a new shed for the tractor that is. The lady got to see the ROPS incident happen, and when she heard me start the tractor in the garage next morning she knew more was up. Caught on both counts.
