we have been working to clear some shooting lanes and food plots to get ready for deer season. My buddy has a mini trackhoe with a dozer blade that does the heavy stuff. I have been using the tractor to push alot of the debris into burn piles. the bucket has gotten hung on a combo of rocks, stumps and roots. it appears to be tweeked pretty good (not just the cutting edge).

how much is a kubota replacement? if i go this route i would just use the bucket I have now for rough stuff.

I would be very interested in a heavier bucket that can take some abuse.

I have read that kubota offers a heavier bucket?

an affordable aftermarket bucket would be even better.

thanks in advance.

The standard 48" B1614 bucket retails from Kubota for about $350. Price may vary from dealer to dealer. According to my list this is the only bucket available from Kubota for the LA302.

I am sure there are several aftermarket heavy duty buckets available out there. ATI, and Bush Hog probably make them.

However, remember that your loader will only lift just under 700 lbs and was not designed to act as a bulldozer by pushing heavy loads. A heay duty bucket will not increase your loader's lift or breakout capability, in fact it will probably decrease them because the heavy duty bucket will be heavier.

I have to wonder if you tweeked/bent the loader arms/frame too? It is one thing to bend the bucket, it is much worse to bend the loader arms out of square. If you are beating the bucket up that badly, you are running the risk of damaging the loader.

As for the bucket itself, take a look at ATI they often advertise here on TBN and they offer aftermarket buckets for tractors, but I'm not sure if they offer a bucket as small as you are looking for.

thanks for the replies and advice.

upon closer inspection the loader frame and arms appear fine. i have not done anything with it that i think could have bent either.

Don't rule out repairing the bucket. You can make a standard
bucket much better by cutting out the distorted parts and
welding in new, including a tubular top lip and cutting edges.
The carcass of the buckets are usually only 1/8" steel, which is
easy to cut out with a plasma cutter and weld in new. I
have fixed a number of rental tractors I bought and boy do
those renters know how to ruin buckets! Even if you pay a welder
to do it, it should cost less than the $500+ that a new bucket
costs.

I agree 100% You can build a better bucket out of what you have than you can buy. Weld in a top pipe and hard face the sides and bottom. Weld in all your hooks and paint it orange LOL and your good. If you can't do it yourself take it to a welder they love stuff like that. Never met a welder that didn't have a thing for making stock parts better
