Here's the subpanel supply and breaker hooked up in the main panel. Test at the garage were all successful and I was very glad to get out of the main panel and be done with the electrical portion of this project. Sorry about pic quality, there was no lighting yet.

Back in the garage, all cleaned up. Never mind that off-kilter conduit, drywall hides a multitude of sins! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think my simple wiring scheme worked out ok. I have room on the left for two more 220v circuits and one small single on the right for future expansion.

You can see from the earlier pics, I ran plenty of communication and alarm lines out to the garage/shop. At the workbench, I originally had placed a quad receptacle for RG cable, Cat 5 broadband and telephone. Couldn't find the appropriate double cover for those services, so I had to change out to a single receptacle with a 3-way modular faceplate for the right plugs. Crowded, but it will eventually be out-of-sight in the enclosed corner comm center.

Ran 2-wire for alarm system to all windows and doors, plus a smoke/heat detector and a motion sensor. After I got done, I got to wondering if I got too close to the romex. Anybody think this will be a problem?

This is the inside working end of my simple water solution. The riser outside goes into a 'T', with a hose bib outside and the other end coming in like this. I use a washing machine supply hose from the inside hose bib to the sink faucet and I put the inside bib up on the wall a bit. This way, I can unhook the sink supply and get a large slop bucket under it if needed. Didn't figure a trap on the sink was necessary.

Well, that's the latest. Insulation is underway and I'm looking for a small woodstove to make the place functional this winter. It was a beautiful weekend, but the snow will be here before we know it I'm afraid. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Finished the insulation yesterday. Put 3-1/2" in the walls for R-13. Glad it was a nicely cool day, installing fiberglass batts in the 90's is downright nasty.

Used 6-1/4" for R-19 in the ceiling. Dunno if it's true but I heard thru the grapevine that OC pink now adds talcum powder to their formulation vs. JM yellow, making it the preferred choice for professional installers. I guess the yellow is much more uncomfortable to handle. Personally, I don't like installing either!

The plan was to keep woodworking stations along the right side wall for easy hookup to a small dust collection system. Eventually, there will be overhead hanging and wall racks for material storage here as well.

The third bay has been real handy this summer, well worth the cost of another OH door. Unfortunately, in the winter months it will be full of Mazda Miata which takes almost 14' floorspace. That doesn't leave a whole lot out of 24' wide, and also limits the ability to place frequently used tools, supplies, etc. along the rear wall on the right side.

I am starting to get a better picture of how the layout pre-planning will work out, and already getting antsy about enough space. But it still makes no sense to move the bulk of stuff in yet until the drywall is up. Yes, I'm already wishing it was larger. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
