Well if you really want to honest the only thing the earth can do sitting in vacuum is cool. When this whole thing started a NASA scientist told me there is only four things controlling the earth temps. Earth closer to sun earth warmer, Earth further away from sun earth cooler, Sun hotter earth hotter, Sun cooler earth cooler There isn't anything else except crap. Study those sciences and you will understand global climate change, the graphs have been the same for 6 billion years. Atmospheric gas studies as earth temperature controlling and used as a predictor of the future is pure snake oil. HS

Nice deflection from the facts and such nonsense.

The temperature of the sun, and a planet's proximity to a star along with the planet's orbital path of course matter, but that isn't the point for global warming--even for a simpleton NASA scientist. In astrophysical terms a planet temperature difference of 50*C is nothing. Now, there are some viruses and bacteria that can survive for a long time at extreme temperatures, but you aren't a virus or a bacteria (???).

A variation of 50*C beyond normal bounds while tiny on a planetary basis is way, way beyond a life or death scenario for you. You, and the plants and animals that sustain you, require a given and fairly narrow temperature range to survive. Alter the bounds of that range by enough and you are a goner. Alter it by a even few degrees and you see changes in all sorts of things.

I don't think you really expect to be taken seriously. This is some sort of time killer or video game substitute for you, right?

You need to understand the engineering for the secondary cooling system, the primary cooling system is a closed loop system, which then passes through condenser units, this does draw the secondary cooling water system from the surface of water the plant is near (Primary reason for the location of the plant), the secondary water is then heated from the primary closed loop, so it must then pass through the cooling towers, which work as a venturi (Hence the shape, think velocity stack) to maintain the rising heated water vapor,( pulling cool air in at the base as hot water is sprayed via a ring header just above the base inlets, which creates the draft, velocity is increased due to the tower design, height is typically dependent on plant size) once condensed back to water, it runs back down the inside of the cooling tower and returned to the same body of water at a temperature that will not damage the environment.

There is always a primary and secondary side to the cooling system, the primary side is a closed loop system as the water needs to be free of various minerals and contaminates for operational requirements. No one wants 10 pounds of river silt in a primary control valve..

Chances are I would know that. I have worked on nuclear reactor power and instrumentation systems since 1990. I was also volunteer Fire Captain at the same site. Also held a Green radiation badge qual for 19 years.

Based on your previous assumption, I thought a refresher was needed..

Who knows, we may very of well crossed paths sometime over the past 25 years.. I support inservice inspections or ISI as its typically referred too.

I sure hate to break up a good discussion... But you're all just plain ole' wrong.

If cars had been invented a hundred years later than they were, they would all be electric. I know this to be true because I heard it on a TV commercial for the Leaf.

Isn't that (ISI) a Middle East terrorist group?

Anyone who thinks buying a battery operated car is going to change the earths climate is a idiot! HS

I agree. Anything on TV and the internet, I know to be true.....

Not too constructive or informative on this one:

id·i·ot
ˈidēət/Submit
nouninformal
a stupid person.
synonyms: fool, ***, halfwit, dunce, dolt, ignoramus, cretin, moron, imbecile, simpleton; More

This is a forum for adult discussion and sharing, not a middle school playground. Name calling serves no constructive purpose. We already know your opinion.

I agree with his logic and I didn't see any reference to calling someone an idiot in this thread. You really want to control the universe don't ya?
