A majority of scientists have been wrong on global warming for 19 years now. Do you really want to throw your lot in with them? HS

Lithium , is a soft white metal. There is a limited amount of accessible earth salts to extract lithium from.

Okay, but much of lithium is sourced from brine, which is currently cheaper to obtain than by mining. Further, the world supply of obtainable lithium is something like 30 million tons (from one web source) or:

"As of January 2010, the USGS estimated world total lithium reserves at 9.9ラ109 kg (economically extractable now) and identified lithium resources at 2.55 ラ 1010 kg (potentially economic)."

This is not to say that lithium is not rare, it is compared to many other elements. One price quote (from a few years ago) had lithium at $43 a pound.

That warm CCW discharge water doesn't seem to be a problem for the fish. The salmon and trout are always swimming in the channel and immediate area of the lake year around. They often leap out of the water while catching insects and smaller fish.
A majority of scientists fund their research through grants after applying for the $$$. How many grants is a scientist going to receive if he proves CO2 is not a problem ?

I predict that the fossil fuel industry would pay some big bucks.

Funding of science - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Most research funding comes from two major sources, corporations (through research and development departments) and government (primarily carried out through universities and specialized government agencies). Some small amounts of scientific research are carried out (or funded) by charitable foundations, especially in relation to developing cures for diseases such as cancer, malaria and AIDS.

Repeating an opinion repeatedly does not make it true. Great references.

Global Warming: 2014 Articles, Facts, Causes & Effects
While many view the effects of global warming to be more substantial and more rapidly occurring than others do, the scientific consensus on climatic changes related to global warming is that the average temperature of the Earth has risen between 0.4 and 0.8 °C over the past 100 years. The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities, are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred over the past 50 years. Scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate carrying out global warming research have recently predicted that average global temperatures could increase between 1.4 and 5.8 °C by the year 2100. Changes resulting from global warming may include rising sea levels due to the melting of the polar ice caps, as well as an increase in occurrence and severity of storms and other severe weather events.

HS - If you'd just stop repeating your GW opinion as if it were fact, I'd refrain from posting opposing conclusions from researchers.

If I'm wrong we will have spent more than necessary on renewables. If you're wrong and we still do nothing, its not going to be nice around here on earth!

Loren, I don't post UN truths. 'Global warming has been on pause for 19 years': Study reveals Earth's temperature has remained almost CONSTANT since 1995 | Mail Online Loren look at your own verbiage above "Scientists from intergovernmental Panel". THEY lie! They have been caught, and admitted altering the data for an agenda. It's a hoax. Atmospheric gases are and have already been shown to be the wrong science to understand global climate change, they don't even have an impact on global climates, orbital science and sun output is the controlling science, CO2 has nothing to do with it, the only reason it hangs on is because it's the only "man link" the hoax'ers can make to forward their agenda. You got dooped. Happy 18th Birthday No Global Warming! After Nearly Two Decades, We're Still Waiting for the Climate to Change I think your continued statement that a "majority of scientists agree" is also untrue. HS

That cooling water post by loran is just another intentionally misleading propaganda snippet . The fact is: they all need cooling water not just coal plants.

From the epa.gov site:
"Water use in electricity generation
Many types of power plants generate electricity by boiling water to produce steam, which is then passed through a turbine. Such plants include ones that burn coal and biomass, nuclear plants, some natural gas plants, and even some solar facilities"

The irony is, that loran is a big pusher of battery cars that require more power plant generation.

Not to mention most plants (nuclear anyway) have their own dedicated cooling lakes, so it's not just dumped into a stream/river.

The whole corporate battery car industry agreed intentional misnomer, that being "electric vehicle", was a well thought out initial campaign to try to keep the public from associating these cars with 'batteries', which in all other aspects of consumer lives, are preached by many as waseful, potentially hazardous items, to kept at a minimum.
'Electric' trains, and subways run on constant contact supplied energy. 'Electric' appliances also run on an unlimited supply.
Conversely, battery powered tools are called 'battery powered', or 'portable', or 'cordless'.

Believe me, It's by no mistake, that the industry puposely avoids calling battery cars...what they are. Battery cars.
I know I do.

8 Lies Told by Climate Change Deniers Debunked by Real Climate Scientists | Atlas Left
A piece published on Moyers & Company recently took a look at eight of the more complex and scientific-sounding of arguments against anthropogenic climate change, and dismantles each one in a way that the average person is capable of understanding. Each of these arguments are likely arguments that you’ve heard but may or may not have had an answer for. These eight lies include:
The Earth stopped warming in 1998 (or 1996, or 1997)
The IPCC “predictions” were wrong, therefore, it’s not happening
The temperature readings are unreliable
3% of Scientists disagree, therefore, there’s no scientific consensus
The sun is entering a low solar cycle, so it’s the sun’s fault
Back in 1960 they were talking about global cooling; since science doesn’t change in 50 years, global warming is a hoax
The Earth’s been warm before, so anthropogenic global warming is a lie
Even though the melt from West Antarctica is unstoppable, the Antarctic ice is still growing
Arctic sea-ice 'growth', a manufactured IPCC 'crisis' and more: David Rose is at it again

Your claims are covered above.
