I hunt, mostly moose and partridge. I own a couple outfitting hunting lodges for moose and blackbear. I can't seem to insert an image at the moment, but will in a couple of days I would imagine. I'm at work and the computers will not allow it I suppose.

I have been hunting since I was old enough to hold a single barrel .410. My granddaddy and daddy were avid hunters. We had beagles for rabbit hunting and bird dogs for quail. In the old days people here mostly hunted deer with dogs, now people mostly still hunt. Now about 50 years later, still love to dove hunt along with duck. Still go still hunting but not like I use too. I believe hunting kept me from getting in trouble.

Yep, I had to have it in HI range to run him down too! Those Ozark's white tail's may be small, but they sure can run!

James K0UA

James you got that right, all that "practice" running up and down that rocky country:laughing:

VroomVroom,
We'll have to talk one of these days. Moose is on my bucket list. Where are you located? Can't wait to see some of your photo's.

Heck, I'm just trying to catch up to Eddie Walker!! He has some beautiful animals with some great stories that accompany them.

Eddie and I tried to hook up this time last year for a water buffalo hunt I stumbled onto in central Texas. A landowner fenced in his property and unknowingly fenced in 3 free-ranging (albeit non-native) water buffalo. I hunted for them twice and walked my tail off trying to find them in the cedar thicket. I bumped them 3 times but never got a shot. I was recruiting Eddie to increase our numbers/odds, but the timing never worked out for us. I love the "spot and stalk" or tracking hunts. They're truly fair chase and give you a sense of accomplishment.

Here are a few pics of some hogs I've killed on my land

I was really hoping you would have gotten them. What ever happened to them?

Karen is excited to go to SCI in Dallas this year. What day are you going?

In a good year I take about 30-40 grouse; mostly on the woods roads going in and out of work, or over the course of the day with a .22 pistol.
I really don't consider it to be hunting.

This year though I am walking my lab on weekends, hoping to teach him to flush in close enough for a shot. Anytime I shoot one I let him pick it up, even though he has vise grip jaws.
Yesterday he found his first ever cripple, which I thought I had missed; he was one PROUD pup when he brought it back to me, with his tail high and his head even higher. I tried to take a picture but he wouldn't stand off for it; he wanted to give the bird to me.

I'm also trying to find time to chase deer the way I used to, I haven't hunted them seriously in 20 years
