Yes they are.. But on average you'd get maybe spikes to maybe 8 p to 12 pointers....instead of those which are probably 45" or 50", I would say maybe 24" to 36 ". Though surprisingly the cows are normally larger in body size. The cows can get pretty big. Walk up to a cow within bow shot with a recurve and get a good shot and to me, its a trophy. Maybe if I get a chance to hunt myself instead of guide I'll have to post a picture.

I'm a little slow. Are these Eastern Moose? And are you a guide or an outfitter to hunt moose? Do you have other animals that you guide and/or hunt for?

Yes I am an outfitter. We can hunt, coyote, (limited experience-maybe you could teach us) Black bear, Moose, ptarmigan(partridge), Rabbit, Grouse. However, we mostly deal with bear and moose, but while we are walking you see partridge...and we see coyote from time to time. Coyote are a relatively new addition to the island, They first hit one in 1987, but no one paid attention to it. They were seen crossing the ice they say, other reports are they came in boxes by the logging companies to kill the moose calfs to prevent sapling destruction. But time went on and people forgot. In the past 5 years, maybe 7 years...people been seeing these "coyotes" ...the past couple years its well known and sightings are not uncommon.....so they are here now. Some people have started snaring them, and hunting them, but its relatively a new things. Most people have never seen one. Many fear them. I recently hit one on the highway, I want to send it in to wildlife to see the age and stomach contents..awhile getting a $25 bounty. Its teeth look in bad shape..so I'm wondering the age. Its relatively large, despite only being 25lbs. Apparentyly we have large ones here. Were on the east coast of canada.

The farthest East that I've been in Canada is to Quebec and then up near Ungava bay to hunt Caribou. That was amazing!!!! My parents are both Canadians and if fill out the paperwork, I can be a duel citizen. One of my brothers did this so he could work in Commonwealth Nations. I have a cousin in Saskatchewan with over 3,000 acres that is below the line for non citizens to hunt and I've thought about becoming a duel citizen just to hunt her farm. I also have family in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia that I've never met, but my parents where there a few years ago and went out fishing with them and brought home a wooden crab trap. None of them hunt, they just fish.

One of my dreams is to get all four types of moose. So far I'm at zero. LOL

I have hunted the Canadian geese only twice, no dog, just me. Sat on a hill near a flyway they used coming out of the river when I lived in Western Colorado. Probably would have been more fun with a setup like that.
