What is that weapon you have in the red fox photo? A drilling???

Yes, it's the same gun in all, except the second picture...

It's been my "go to" gun since I bought it in 1983 it's put tons of meat in my freezer...

It was made in Germany, in 1935,

standard.jpg

It's 16ga., (20ga. with slide in adapters) 8x57 and with the rim fire slide in bbls in the right bbl., it can be 22LR or 22WMR...

It's light weight at just 7 pounds and very accurate with my 200 grain Nosler bullets at 2,550fps hand loads,

I have two scopes for it, both in "claw" mounts, for instant on/off and it ALWAYS comes back to being sighted in when you snap the scope on...

It's really nice that it breaks down for travel or storage too,

I love the thing and hunt with it all the time...

Thanks for the info. That's really a beautiful gun, and in great condition. Even more amazing to be that old. What craftsmanship! Appreciate the photos.

I know this is off topic but your drilling caught my eye. I did some research and discovered a fascination story of a very similar Kreighoff being brought home from Europe as a war trophy. Seems it was kept under a bed in Ohio for 50 years and then put up for auction. It's very similar to your except a presentation grade, very fancy, with the initials "AH" on the trigger guard. Yep, it was in experts opinions, Adolf Hitlers's. Sold at auction for $142,000 Thought you may be interested. So you indeed have something special!!!

Thanks for the story, there are quite a few ****** drilling stories floating around, except that the drilling are usually said to be built by J.P.Sauer... In fact, Sauer made something like 1200 Luftwaffe drilling to be put in their airplanes during the war, to be used for survival if they were shot down...

Lots and lots of drillings around, for all kinds of prices... I bought mine cheep by todays standards and built/restored it to what I always wanted a hunting gun to be. It's been with me on all kinds of hunts, from keeping me fed on costal temperate rainforest islands of Alaska, to wondering in the deserts in Texas and I've shot everything from fox and coyotes along with all kinds of small game, to bear and moose...to the biggest whitetail I've ever seen in the wild, right here on my own place,

It's been an absolute please to own and use...

Nice gun and good pictures guys!

I Just shot these two today. First one out the front door at about 100 yards and the second one 30 seconds later out the back door at 300.
