So why did you buy a Mahindra?

/ So why did you buy a Mahindra? #11
I purchased my 3325 (35hp, 2wd, no live PTO) in July 2006. I bought if for the following reasons listed in probably the order that influenced my decision.

1. Price
2. Weight and size
3. Mahindra痴 history. They are an old company. Made Willy Jeeps during WWII.
4. A 3325 is almost a remake of the International; I think a 454, which were 5. made fror use in England
6. 0% interest for 36 months
7. Warranty
8. Dealer reputation and willingness to make a deal.

Some things Iquestioned. I hadn稚 bought a new tractor in 30 years.
1. Being a diesel
2. 3 cylinder motor
3. No live PTO, but I couldn稚 afford a tractor with live PTO.
4. Parts supply being it was made in India.
I really am quite pleased with my Mahindra and would recommend them to anyone. My only regret is not paying the extra for a 3525. I think the difference in cost was about $2,000 at the time.

Hope this helps.

Mostly because of the dealer (Dave Siemens of DavesTractor).
Also got a good deal on the 2008 Mahindra 5525 with ML250 FEL and a good trade-in price on my 2005 Kubota B7510HST with LA302 FEL.
I'd buy Mahindra's in the future. The newest Mahindra tractors are very nice.

I have about 130 hours on the tractor (it's used primarily for work in my 6-acre hayfield--a hobby, of course). I keep it lubed and do the periodic maintenance on schedule. So far the engine/drive train has been solid.

Only problems: loose bolt in one of the tail light covers. The tach has recently begun to stick on zero--it reads upscale after the engine runs for a few minutes. Tapping on the tach window sometimes frees it up.

Mine did the same thing, it was a bad ground. The dealer ended up giving me a new cluster.... but I think if we just ran a new ground wire it would have been fine.

I love my 5525, My dealer has it right now installing a ML252 loader and rear remotes. I would by it again.

I bought my 3215 after seriously checking out New Holland, Farm Trac and Kioti. I did not even look at JD or Kubota, because I knew they were out of my price range. Kioti fell out of favor because the only close dealer shut down. I did not feel comfortable with the dealer network of Farm Trac so they went to the wayside. The New Holland dealer was very friendly and helpful, however the Mahindra had more options for a cheaper price and I felt very comfortable on it when I tested it out. Going on four years and my Mahindra has been great!!!

I got mine, a 4510 with a loader, for a reasonable price on ebay.

My only regret was not buying a 7520 and instead buying a 6520. Cost difference was also just $2000. I have no qualms with the 6520. Just that the 7520 has a 17 .vs 11 gpm hydro pump and a two speed PTO. I truly looked away from the 7520 because of the turbo and the price. Now I would overlook these two items.

A lot of folks mess up and buy too small of a tractor and end up breaking it or wearing it out way too soon by trying to work it like a larger tractor. Buy as much tractor as you need. Anything smaller will make you regret your purchase.

Kioti fell out of favor because the only close dealer shut down.!

My dealer had Kioti before Mahindra. When I saw they switched, I asked and was told they had too much warranty work on the Kioti brand. I guess they are an okay brand. Two co workers have them and like them.

John Deere fans boost of their dealer network, which is awesome, but I can have a part shipped to me overnight.

I have a Mahindra tractor and JD lawn mower. I get better service from the Mahindra dealer. Just my experience.

I went to a Mahindra dealer and found that they also sold LS tractors. I compared the features of each size and LS came away the total winner in features and price. This was actually my last stop after looking at NH, Case, MF, Kioti and Kubota. LS topped them all in price, standard features and warranty. I got the cab model LS P7010C (72HP)which has triple remote hydraulics, 3 speed PTO, telescopic 3PH arms and stabilizers, non-turbo IVECO Italian made motor, 20 F/ 20R gear shuttle shift transmission (I dont like Hydro) but they are available in the smaller units, a super nice Sony stereo system, and all at the price of a 1652 MF. IT also has a 5 year warranty.

Two things stopped me from making a Mahindra choice..The price for the smaller new machine, with loader. Plus I did not like or recognize the final drive arrangement of the rear axle.I did like their housings, as they look to be very heavy-duty and mostly cast iron? I also like the Mitsubishi engine arrangements on them.. So. Jy.
