Yep, the same reason you will see a car circle the lot 3 times, pass 100 empty spots and then sit and idle until a close spot comes up. Many people are lazy and care only about themselves. I personally park any of my cars a good distance away, there is less chances of dings and it is easier to pull out.

I agree!! I would rather park at the space farthest away, and walk .

Not our fault that they design parking spaces for Nagasaki nut bucket econoboxes, is it?

yep.. why not make a few spots that a full size truck can pull in and not have it's outter rears on the line on both sides.. and fender in the other parking spots..

ditto that. they will waste 5m circling. vs parking 1 minute out farther in the lot.

no/less chance of door and buggy dings either..

It would be nice if "trucks only" spots were made available, I live in a farming community and the big diesels are a necessity not a fashion statement and it is a bear getting them into the small spaces. I can pretty much bet people would be parking cars in them for the added room and protection from being banged up by opening doors.

I have a normal size stock pickup but that's all I need.

I agree, people are LAZY and often inconsiderate.

There are times I sit in my van and wait for a HC spot or one close to the door. Rather than unload my scooter or wheelchair I'd rather wait for a close spot to open up and walk the short distance and use the ones in the store. What gets me is the inconsiderate people that use grandma's HC placard and park in the HC spots. You see it all the time obviously non HC person and kids come out from store carrying heavy bags load the car and leave. In all the years I have had the HC placard I have only witnessed two occasions where there was actually enforcement of the law.

And the size of the spaces are ridiculous ESPECIALLY at hardware stores!
At Lowes or HD my Civic or Jetta fit fine. My dually sits like a Mississippi mama in an airline seat with both sides hanging over.

I go for pull-thru.

I have an F-150 Crewcab...definitely not the biggest truck around, but it sure is a PITA to park in many parking lots. Seems like parking spot are getting smaller these days...or is that just me?

I search for the idiot in a " Nagasaki nut bucket econoboxes" that can't manage to park straight or in the middle of the space. I love it when I can be perfectly centered in my space, but he can't open his door because of his inability to park.

Must be both of us as I mentioned this to my wife just the other day and we weren't even in my truck, I was driving her car. I know I am getting pretty old, but man those spots were small.

I do look for the closest (non-handicapped) parking space, partly because of habit and partly because of weather (too hot in the summer to stay out any longer than I need to just walking to the store in the sun). So I might occasionally even circle the parking lot, looking for a close spot, but one thing that annoys me is the people who park in the aisle, blocking traffic, while waiting and hoping someone will leave and they can get a close spot.
