I search for the idiot in a " Nagasaki nut bucket econoboxes" that can't manage to park straight or in the middle of the space. I love it when I can be perfectly centered in my space, but he can't open his door because of his inability to park.

Love it when 2 of them park as close as possible to the lines on either side of a parking spot, leaving almost enough room on the other side of them to park another car! i'll back my big a$$ed dually right between them thoroughly preventing them from getting in their car! but I don't have any problems because I can still get out due to the lenght!

Hate to stir things up....

LOL, LOVE IT!

Whenever I drive my truck, my rule is simple.

Park as close as I can where I can 1. Pull through, and 2. have an empty space on both sides.

Thats it. Sometimes that puts me in BFE, other times I and close.

But two things that irk me are

1. The people who will park next to you and then complain about you parking there:mur: I was there first idiot. IF you didnt like where I parked, dont park next to me.

2. The other think that irks me is the trend over the last decade or so where stores put the entrances and exits a country friggan mile appart. So while you may not have to walk much to get into the store, its a long hike exiting. Or vice a versa. So no matter where you park anymore, there is a good bit of walking involved.

when i see a big vehicle is a small space. it is usually close to a door. and .. unless there is a HC sticker on it.. then the driver is just plain lazy IMHO...

When I see a truck with a handicapped plate or sticker, I'm always looking for an extra cane stuck behind the seat.

Of course whenever I see a person with a handicapped plate hop out and go trotting into where ever they're going, I 'm always wondering if such a visibly health person got their plate due to a mental handicap?

kind of like people who crowd the front entrance of the gym, they are going to run/walk on a tread mill for an hour but forget walking another 50 feet to the car thats just crazy

I was going to mention the same thing when I saw this thread. They'll orbit the lot or sit and wait for a spot to open up right next to the door (or if they feel like it, park in the fire lane), just to save from walking a few extra feet. And to top it off, they're paying some annual fee to use that treadmill. <facepalm>

There's a particular tool store that's in the same strip mall as a one of those gyms. When I drive to the tool store I've learned to NOT take the entrance that goes right by the gym, so as to avoid getting stuck in that traffic.

Like many here, I prefer to park some distance out and walk. Fewer door-dings, less traffic (less idling), and more exercise. As for parking, I tend to back into a spot if I can't pull through. I find that it creates better situational awareness when I go to leave -- much better visibility of where I'm going. I do this regardless of what I'm driving - the truck or the mighty civic. I've been doing it so long that I park much better in reverse than I do going forward.

I find pull-through spots at least 10 spaces away from the nearest vehicle...It's usually only a 100' or so further walk no big deal given the lack of frustration/damage...On the other hand, our Costco has the biggest parking spaces of any place I've seen around here, I can park anywhere I want with no concerns--Hat's off to them for that.

I went to Home Depot and Lowes today. At each one I parked the truck 2/3 way out, near the middle of the empty area. When I came out of each one, there was a car parked next to my truck. They had to drive past many empty spaces to get there, farther away from the door.

At least they only parked next to you. I always look for a spot that I can pull through that has open spots one each side. It never fails that someone always parks right behind me, even though there are open spots all around the truck. So in order to drop the tailgate I have to pull the truck forward, or move it to a different spot, depending on what I'm loading. :censored:

At Home Depot, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, etc., I look for a pull through, or back in, parking spot if I'm only going for something small, but I never park in such a spot if I anticipate needing to open the tailgate to load anything.
