SoilMover - Scraper

I had an opportunity to really put the SoilMover to use today. I moved about 2 1/2 cu yds of earth / topsoil from a "hump" to an area that required leveling and seeding. It took approximately 45 minutes to move the 2.5 cu yds about 200 feet and spread it over the area to be seeded and I never had to souch a shovel.

I do need to remodel the dump latch lever to something more easily accessable - perhaps a left foot pedal or a hand lever mounted to the fender deck. John

This thing looks interesting. I would be interested in hearing more of your experiences after you use it some more. It looks nice. Our property is as flat as a nickle. The only thing I could think of is getting one to dig out a ditch or something. I guess I just love things that dig in the ground.

I ran across a similar soil mover at a yard sale in Texas this weekend. I was trying to think of a time I might want to use something like this. I believe the woman still has it. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll tell you where I saw it. (Ellis County) It was very slightly different than yours. It was painted white.

Just used the earth mover and the re-engined JD 420 last Thursday. Moved about 3 cu yds of topsoil from a drainage way and spread it along the garden. Still have another 2-3 yds. to move, but over 2" of rain killed the project for a while. Will try pulling the scraper with the diesel JD455 next time.
