Solar Fence Trouble Shooting

Never tested the ground wire, never thought of doing it!

I have 1.6 amps showing on the grounding wire, but no direction. I am thinking the meter may not be designed to show current on the ground wire?

Something has to complete the circuit (get shocked). Any volunteers?

anytime I see a voltage measurement on a ground I figure I haven't got enough grounds or they are working poorly. It may be that the soil is dry and contact is poor or simply not enough rods. Sometimes a bucket of water with a small leak will help if placed beside ground post.

I had the meter on amperage, I did not measure the voltage. The odd thing was it did not show a direction.

I have noticed that when current flow is small, the direction arrow is often missing.

Also, interestingly, I have seen the current arrow reverse direction between pulses. I have learned that this means that there is a medium sized leak in a Y arm behind me, toward the charger. It's as if the electricity goes down both legs of the Y with a pulse then hits the end of the fence and bounces back to the medium leak leg before the next pulse. Rubber electrons, I guess. Electricity is strange, sometimes.

I expect to see some odd current flows when the leak are intermittent, wind blowing etc. All in, this is turning out to be a big help on the fences.
