Very nice looking,
Solid rear differential/transmission, I guess that answers the semi-IRS.
Looks like it痴 going to compete with the Rhino. Top speed seems low.

Many of the manufacturers shoot to be under 30 for speed because of the federal laws. I imagine that it also makes a big difference on them for liability to build it. It like it's big brother are both built more towards work then leisure although they can be a pleasure to drive.

I read 15.8 hp, which is way low to compete with the horsepower race in UTVs. Of course if the price is low enough it will have a place in the market.
EFI was mentioned- the 2008 Yamaha Rhino is also EFI.[/QU

with the right transmission it might have alot of torque to that little thing you never know?

What does "semi-independent" rear suspension mean? Looks like a solid axle.

it's probably a sdolid axle but with the leaf springs it gives it a sorta indepndent feel to it. instead of like the hpx the rear axle is directly bolted to the rear frame so it can't move . the rtv 500 has the axle bolted to the springs instead.( just a guess) don't hold me too it.

Curious- what federal law is that?

So the HPX has no rear suspension, but adding a coil or leaf spring is then called "semi-independent". That's an example of creative marketing.

yes the hpx does have rear suspension. but the axle is mounted to the frame and not to leaf springs . then there are two shocks that run up to the upper frame and down to the lower engine cradle and axle but it doesn't alow it to flex any other than up and down.

Don't really know but when trying to get customers insured and possibly registered for the street for rtv's it was brought up a couple of times. I hit it with my golf cart also when trying to get plates. SMV signs on the back have been enough so far.

You are right you don't know;) There is no such federal law.

There are some state laws about speed of certain " not normally used on road" vehicles getting as permit/license to operate on the road. In SC the vehicle cannot be capable of more than 25 MPH and can only use certain roads within a certain distance of your residence. Golf carts generally get approved. My Rhino can't because it will go way over 25, not sure how far but I've seen 40 on it. Some states WILL issue a license plate for a Rhino or other UTVs.

I have succesfully licensed dirt bikes but have been unable to find a loophole to get my Rhino licensed like I did the dirt bikes...
