I bought one of my B-I-L's motorcycles, promptly over-torqued the rear axle while adjusting chain tension. It snapped in half! I wasn't aware it was tubular, and torqued it as I had other solid m-cycle axles. No torque wrench, despite owning several. DOH!

So loaded up its wounded self on my little trailer to haul it down to Atlanta to wait for a new axle from the UK (Triumph) and replace it. While loading, B-I-L says "checked these trailer wheel lugnuts lately?" About half of them were finger-tight!! DOH!

It was NOT my finest hour. :ashamed:
