Chris...

Until you get a tractor to take pictures of... why not just take some pictures of "emergency room" cases... love to see the pictures from your new camera... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Harv,

TBN has been a strong motivating factor for me to buy a digital camera, but has not even been a factor for Santa./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
Who can have respect for someone that drives around in a sleigh pulled by dumb animals anyway. They make fun of their own kind if he has a big shiney red nose. I'll bet they would make fun of him if it were orange or blue too.

Yeah, TBN is one of the reasons I am getting a digital cam.

I don't have one yet, but TBN is probably the main reason I want one. There's also the plant and tree ID section of the forestryforum that becomes 100 times more useful if you have one.

THANKS HARV: I needed anothe reason to go out and get a digital camera. have been thinking of it since i have been on tbn. hate when a guy asks a question and i would love to go snap a pic and load it on computer, but no i would have to take the minolta slr and shoot then wait till i fill the roll then get it developed , but by that time, it ain't worth it. also i think it might be nice to have for my 1st grandson(6 mo old). digitals are the way to go and i will have one soon, along with new computer, along with middle buster, along with subsoiler. think i better start working more overtime /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif think i can do with out subsoiler!!!

Went and bought a Sony FD-92, it has both afloppy drive and a memory stick. Last time I went to the lake to mow (two weeks ago) I took the attached picture of the white stuff floating on the lake. Enjoy, they comes up from the coast every year.

Randy -

That's a great picture! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

An excellent example of why we just have to have our digital cameras. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

And Frank -- yep, digitals are perfect for kid picts. It's a regular thing around our house now, right after any kind of event (swim meet, soccer game, etc.), we watch the "instant replays" in the form of a computer slide show. Also a big hit at birthday partys -- I take a bunch of snapshots of all the kids in the pool, and then while they're drying off I load the picts into the computer so's they can all gather 'round and laugh at themselves. It's a big hit. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

TBN and the people who post pictures here, whose names I can't recall, have been a huge influence in educating me on the merits of digital cameras and computer imaging as a hobby. They have sparked my interest in seriously researching these cameras, and I have muchly enjoyed the creative and beautiful pictures that have been posted here.

However, I have not bought one.

As I have stated elsewhere, someone must be the contrapuntal Yin to the rampant toymaniacal Yang that has swept TBN. Someone must serve as the model of self-restraint and self-discipline. Someone must be the exemplar of Calvinistic self denial. Someone must display a commonsensical and pennywise rejection of self-indulgent excess and gadgeteering gluttony. I am the Chosen One to bear this cross of iron will.

My sacred mission is also assisted by the fact that I have three kids in college, a Himalayan mortgage, and no job.

But, hey, I'm not complaining. I could be living in a cave in a Stone Age country. Of course, if I were, I would be a Saudi billionaire, and could afford lots of cameras. Go figure.

My philosophy is that a thousand words is worth a picture. I didnt quite make it in this post, but so what--whatshisname once posted a photo with insufficient pixels.

Nope Harv,

I bought my last one to use at work. Now here's a wild one. I guess you all know I'm a veterinarian. Well I damn near flunked radiology in vet school so I can't clain to be any expert at reading them... Now here's the state of technology. I belong to a network veterinary group that has 85 Board Certified Consultants online. I can take an image of a radiograph that I can't figure out and put it in the Radiology Seminar on VIN (Veterinary Information Network) and within an hour have some of the leading experts in the world giving me opinions. Makes me a real smart vet. Also take pictures of lesions such as tumors, etc and send them to a pathologist in Arizona. A few days later he has the real biopsy. It helps him make up his diagnosis.

I'll tell you this hi-tech world is incredible!

Also have more than paid for it quite a few times over by selling on eBay and Auction Arms.

They have come a ong way in 3 or 4 years.
