One thing you can do with the spiders and the other bugs. Is if you have kids / Grand-kids is capture the bugs and freeze them. ( this kills them quick) then get some clear casting resin and cast them ( its like two part clear epoxy you can find on amazon). The kids get a kick out of it and they also learn what bugs/spider do what and they can handle them in the resin and look at them from all angles.

For instance the hornet defrank caught appears to be a hornet queen they come out in the spring looking for places to nest around here. its a great education

Frank get you some Permethrin and spray your boots and cloths that you hike in, Let the cloths dry. The cloths will be good for 30 days or 5 washings. you can either get the Sawyer Permethrin Pump Spray. Or get Permethrin from your local agi store and mix it yourself ( i have kids so i get the agi store concentrate and mix it in a 1 gallon sprayer). You will not have anymore issues with ticks. ( DO not spray it on you BODY). I guess i need to make a video of this. as i hear more and more people with tick trouble.

When using poisons be sure to read the label. Permethrin is very toxic to cats, but not as toxic to people or dogs.

That痴 why I love this forum, thx re the tick repellent, I will give it a try. Pulled at least 3 ticks off me already today.

I saw on the news, there is a tiny tiny tick that痴 started showing up, pulled 1 of those off this morning.

Finally got my broken grease fitting out but, I知 gonna rant about that on the other thread, after I visit the dealer!

I want to second the permethrin.

Permethrin is ok (old school pest control) and can help with ticks and mosquitos too ( I use it to kill fire ant mounds), but it won't help with spiders. It is oil based and is designed to be put on textiles, so the application method noted is correct.

If you have a location that is having serious spider issues you will be hard pressed to find anyone who will help kill spiders since they are a "good" pest eating the "bad" ones. But you can use a product called Tempo that does a great job on spiders. It leaves a white residue and is a synthetic chemical similar to permethrin but much more powerful. So stick with permethrin if you can. I buy my concentrates of both off Amazon as its the best value. I also recommend Demon and Suspend which have specific other uses you can look up.
