I have a 5 spool Commercial Intek valve just like the one Bobodo used on his loader that is leaking to ports when in center posistion. It also leakes to other spools when one is activated. when trying to lift main boom the bucket trys to curl.

I'm perty sure I don't have all the air out yet. Could this be part of the problem? This valve should only have about 30 hours on it.

I just tried it again and it didn't matter which way I moved the curl valve, it would curl the bucket. Other spools would curl also. Here's a pic.

Interesting valve to use in a FEL application; lots of extra spools for grapple, and other accessories.:D

At first I was inclined to think that the valve has some internal problem, like orings between segments or some scoring in a spool, but the more I think about it the more inclined I am to suspect something else, and not air. This is a used valve in a new installation? Is it the type of valve for your system ie (open center\closed center), are the supply, return, PB lines connected correctly.

Hydraulic fluid like electricity will take the path of least resistance--in this case you curl circuit. More information and pics of your install would help me know better how to advise you.

It is used in new aplacation and open center. In port hooked to pump, out to tank. Below is a quote from seller.

"These are off a Army Tank hauling trailers that are being rebuilt. Actual hours of use are very low. Valve is 3 position, open center, spring return. Was used on double acting cylinders.

One user tells me these are open center "power to port", hope that helps. another customer said he got them to work as motor control valves. He says; Tht is in effect an open center valve. All the 5 work sections have what is known as a motor or float spool. The workports and the tank are interconnected in the neutral position. When handle is pushed into the valve, the port closest to the handle is powered and the farthest one connects to tank. When the handle is pulled away, the opposite occurs. The relief valve is set at 4000psi crack pressure and the flow rating is 20-22 gpm. .

Flow rate is 22 gallons per minute. O ring ports, intake is size 10 exhaust is size 12 Manufactured by Commercial Intertech. Also have hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and 6.5 hp Kubota diesel power units from these trailers.

Service manual for the valve can be found at: WINGET - Downloads - Publications scroll down to "site dumpers" and it is the fifth listing."

What are you putting this valve on?--I assume that you are using it with a FEL You must have a pump that is separate from the tractor system? You are not putting it into an existing hyd circuit? I say this because there is no Power Beyond port that would allow hyd flow on to 3 pt or it is simply not being used in which case was it supposed to be closed off or opened up?

That does not seem to be the same definition as this and actually seem to be opposite. This first is what you would need on a open center system that has things in a series.

A motor control valve is different in that in the neutral position there is an open between the motor drive ports and the tank (as described) so that the motor does not come to a sudden stop. motors shear keys and retaining bolts when they come to a quick forceful stop when spinning a heavy object. Such a valve when used with cylinders allows the cylinders to extend or contract according to the load on them.

I am not convinced that these are open center valves as is commonly used on this forum. These 2 statements appear to me to be self contradictory.

Do you have a link where I can see specs on the pumps, and valves? I looked at the service manual, but I am not knowledgeable enough to look at the disassembled valve pictures and tell you that is or is not such and such.

In looking at the manual, though I saw that the position of the spool is controlled by a spring. If the spring were not torqued correctly then it it would pull/push the spool off center and power one side. That does not explain all the symptoms, but it might be something to consider.

Sorry I am not much help so far. I believe that I still lack clear information on the specs of the valve and system in which it is now installed.
