-I need a small scale sprayer to apply fungicide to my Christmas Tree field. Size would probably be in the 25-55 gal range.Does anyone know a source for plans to build one?

There are lots of ways to go. I ended up buying one because the frame fabrication was a challenge to me. Fabricating the frame or transport system is really the most difficult. Not that its rocket science but you need to have metal working tools and a welder to build one like the commercial companies sell. If you post your basic needs and tractor make/PTO 3PH specs etc., I bet you will get lots of feedback. Plenty of guys I know who are dumber than usual have made one. You should decide whether you want an electric pump or PTO driven pump to start.

The plumbing is pretty straight forward and most of the components are (were) available at your late, great TSC or Quality Farm and Country Stores. You can also go to http://rittenhouse.ca/ and order everything you need online. If there is a TSCnear by you might make a quick dart over there to see if you can pick up the most expensive and common components like a roller pump and pressure relief valve, control valves etc. Everything is 50% off on sprayer parts at my local TSC and the sprayer stuff is moving slowly.

I have attached a basic diagram of a simple spray system using a roller pump. I will post anoth diagram of a bigger rig in an upcoming post.

Good luck
Brad

Here is another with a couple of booms. You'll notice that the plumbing is really the same. I studied this topic pretty thouroughly a year or so ago, so post any more question you have and I'll try to get respond as soon as I can.

Hey...I just thought of something. I'm new here and don't know this for sure, but you might need to register to see attachments. I know you need to register to post them. It's pretty painless and the old denizens around here won't chew on you so much and will likely respond more favorably to your presence.

If you have a Quality farm and Fleet or Central tractor around you they have them reduced quite cheap now, if nothing else it will give you an idea for building one yourself.

Both Atwoods and Tractor Supply sell such units and/or the materials to build whatever you need. They some nice self powered units also and PTO types as well. Some have spray booms and or a wand. They 3 point PTO types also.

Thank you for the replies and the diagram. I have checked CT and was weighing the cost differences between what sprayers they have left or building from their discounted parts. I will take a trip there next week and check part availability. I thought I was registered here but it appears not. Will do so today. Thank you again

Here's acopy of an earlier post.

Thanks to all who offered help for me to get wired.
After I got the electrical completed, I got an old 3point fork we made for the old Satoh hooked it up and then got my old 25 gal. sprayer that was used with the JD 185 hydro that was stolen and the wheels just straddled the forks and the tongue hooked to the 2910 draw bar. This is so much better than using the stolen 185 to pull the sprayer. Now I can adjust the 3 point to tilt the tank and the mix is "good to the last drop".
Let's see if I can show you a photo.
