Spreading Germs

I keep the purell in the car door, before I get in, I use it.. Gas pumps, door handles, grocery carts, everything that comes in contact with humans is suspect.

As far as people that are sick and kids that are sick in public, the parent's are not very bright or just don't care that they are spreading sickness..

And don’t forget to add guys who don’t wash their hands after using the restroom to the list.

How gross is THAT??!!

I've had guys tell me "I didn't pi** on my hands."

If I go to the grocery store on my way home and my hands aren't clean the first thing I do is go to the produce section and grab a bag to put my hand in. I've gotten some funny looks and not so funny comments, but at least I'm not handling somebody else's food. One thing that I really hate is going to a place that serves food yet doesn't provide a place for people to wash their hands first.

Can we see how rapid the U.S.A. is moving from a 1st world country to a 3rd world country society. About 60 years ago a stay at home mom would keep her sick kids home from school. Then the economics gradually changed and those moms had to get a job and some had sick leave. Now single moms are working part time, in some instances, so the employer isn't required to pay minimum wage and that single mom cannot afford to take time off. And on we go down the slope.

Unfortunately it's not just single moms in that situation, with as much (potentially needless) debt is taken on in the US it's not unusual to see even white-collar professionals (who should be making enough to be able to take a day off) showing up to work sick.

Which can be rather disturbing if a person stops to think about how much global travel so many individuals in this region do for work (and to a lesser degree recreation/vacation) .....especially when combined with the fact that some of that work-related travel could (at times) include places that are literally war-torn (if not active war zones), or actively experiencing epidemics.

I had my annual Dr visit today. Only thing he did that I thought might need adjusted was shake my hand (bare handed) when he came in the exam room. Otherwise he never touched me without protection. He didn't offer the handshake. I stood and initiated it when he came in.

Yep. He's in his upper 30s. I had him trapped and even though he might not have wanted to, he couldn't refuse me.

Next year when I go back I'll visit with him about it.

I never shake hands with my Dr because of where his hands go with my visits. I can only imagine worse with other patients
I will have to commend my Dr for washing his hands as soon as he enters the exam room and again before leaving.

...to which I look them in the eye and extend my fist out for a fist bump. I take other measures during what I consider cold season such as wearing atlas gloves when I pump gas, or walk into my workplace (400 people interacting with 1400 inmates touching door handles and whatnot), and said gloves are disinfected when I get home. This is the first year I've really adhered to these self imposed rules, and the first year in memory I've not had a cold.
