I don’t watch his videos, they’re too long winded for my liking but what’s wrong with making a couple bucks from it? He’s not trying to peddle crap. All he’s doing is making a video and you can choose to watch it or not.
This is my opinion only, not reflective of TBN's policy.
There are two very good sponsors of this website, Messick's and Everything Attachments that put videos on this site all the time. They are profiting from them by selling product. I don't recall any Ads on their videos. Certainly not scattered thru the middle of the videos. I get their intent and honor it. They repeatedly offer great advice for tractor operators. Way beyond any profit they might have. Their intent is clear.
You, on the other hand, are here strictly to profit. You could care less about any of the members here. You only want "hits" on your videos. The members here get that.
Since you recently joined with limited posts (8), maybe you'll figure it out and become a major contributor to this site. I hope you do.
Lastly, don't tie your making money to my enjoyment. You don't know me that well.
What about Ken's bolt on hooks.....![]()
Another great video as usual, Mike! I'll be trying your method out next time I spread some stone. Thanks for sharing!
Thats being a little judgmental I think, How would you know I feel about members here? Why would you say Im here strictly for profit? It was a video spreading stone, with a tractor, on a tractor forum, that is visited by guys that use tractors. Thats a pretty good fit I thought.
I shared a video on how I spread stone with a tractor on a tractor forum? How on earth is that crossing a line? I shared a technique that I use that works very well for me. Had I said "Hey check out my YouTube channel, please subscribe, share these videos with you friends!" Then that would be "promoting my channel" Make sense?

Nothing wrong with a post every now and then with a video linked in my opinion. It’s not like yourvon here every day posting your latest video or directly asking people to buy something.
I think some folks are just overreacting for one reason or the other but maybe a post every now and then on something without a link or mention of your channel might be a better way to sway some folks way of thinking. My wife suggested that if you don’t post regularly many will confuse genuine “i was a little bored and made a post” or “I was a little curious and asked a question” with “this guy is promoting his channel because he doesn’t post often and when he does there is always a link to a video”. She also suggests many don’t realize how much time can go into making those video’s and that may indeed be the reason why you don’t post often.
Anyway
To answer your question about shaking it on or not.
For me I really one shake it like that for small areas, most times it’s way too much stone to spread that way and its much more productive to spread with a rear blade, grader or even a box blade.
I never really seen Messick's posts here, so can't comment on that. But, I do have to say that I've seen Everything Attachments get a bit spammy here w/o adding anything to a thread other than self-promotion. They did that to one of my threads. But hey if they're sponsoring the site, it's entirely their right to, so whatever.
Well stated.
His post count as of now is at what 10?
Maybe we should give the guy a chance to establish himself a little without jumping the gun?
I totally agree. That's why I am waiting to see what he does.
Maybe post some of his other videos minus Ads??? That would be a great indicator of his intent.
I'm all for him becoming a major contributor and sharer of great tractor operation information on TBN!!!
I wouldn’t expect someone to post video that are already online with ads to post them here without adds. To me that would seem like a lot of hassle and not worth the time it would take. But again I’m no expert at you tube. I would think an honest opinion or answer here and there without always posting a link to a video might be more realistic.
A question I have is
If I was to post a link to a video should I find a way to always do it without ads?
If everyone who posts a link to something they find weather theirs or not to support, show or explain thier point better had to find a way to do it without adds then I would agree!
You can always hit the "Dislike" Thumbs down button on Youtube...

You can always hit the "Dislike" Thumbs down button on Youtube... based on the number of Ads
As for the next post below yours, Everything Attachments is on here all the time CLEARLY working it for customers, I don't see anybody here raising an issue about it, so...
EA is a sponsor of TBN. Messicks is a sponsor. Ken's Hooks is a sponsor. FitRite Hydraulics is a sponsor. And so on. They are following the rules and are site sponsors, which gives them the ability to advertise and link to their own stuff for profit. Their handles are marked "Advertiser" so we know. It's transparent and they are supporting the site.
I am a mod on another site and we frequently see folks posting videos with the sole purpose of promoting their YouTube channel. They do it under the guise of participating and being helpful, but about 99% of the time it's really basic/obvious information and not genuinely beneficial to the forum members. In reality, it is a form of spam because they are using the forum as a path to run advertising which profits them, not the forum. That violates the rules of most forums, by the way, but it's up to the management and moderators to enforce it.
When I see a video where someone is telling people they can shake loose materials out of a tractor bucket to spread them (= duh) and it's got advertisements (= profit), it totally fits the pattern.
I'd love to be proven otherwise. Show me a breakthrough video with original thinking and no ads, then I will be thankful and impressed.
. (That was a thumbs up emoji for the benefit of non Apple mobile users.)
