EA is a sponsor of TBN. Messicks is a sponsor. Ken's Hooks is a sponsor. FitRite Hydraulics is a sponsor. And so on. They are following the rules and are site sponsors, which gives them the ability to advertise and link to their own stuff for profit. Their handles are marked "Advertiser" so we know. It's transparent and they are supporting the site.

I am a mod on another site and we frequently see folks posting videos with the sole purpose of promoting their YouTube channel. They do it under the guise of participating and being helpful, but about 99% of the time it's really basic/obvious information and not genuinely beneficial to the forum members. In reality, it is a form of spam because they are using the forum as a path to run advertising which profits them, not the forum. That violates the rules of most forums, by the way, but it's up to the management and moderators to enforce it.

When I see a video where someone is telling people they can shake loose materials out of a tractor bucket to spread them (= duh) and it's got advertisements (= profit), it totally fits the pattern.

I'd love to be proven otherwise. Show me a breakthrough video with original thinking and no ads, then I will be thankful and impressed.

Im not looking for you to be thankful or impressed, Like I said, I didn't promote my channel, didn't ask anyone to subscribe, didn't try to sell anyone anything and the video was helpful for a lot of people. Also thanks for the reminder why I don't post here very much, I posted a video on a tractor forum, of a tractor doing work, and it somehow ticks a couple guys off, the discussion quickly turns from tractor stuff on a tractor forum, into a completely different direction and waste of time.

Yes that works well for me too unless Im just adding some stone in places as was needed here, Nice run though with no trees or overhead lines and you need a couple inches layer over it all tailgating works great

If you have more than a bucket or two to spread, nothing beats tailgating it from a dump trailer. It applies a nice thin, even layer. It is narrower than having it tailgated from a large truck so it keeps the stone more centered and maintains the crown.

When tailgating, it helps having a person watch the unloading process. Depending on how fast it is coming out, the person can signal to the driver to adjust the travel speed to get the perfect amount laid down.

Back when I wore a younger man's clothes I owned a Dump Truck. Tailgate spreading is mostly controlled by the chain setting. In driveway situations you might only allow the gate open 2" or less. Just enough so the material doesn't bridge. Nice, slow, steady travel speed. Repeat if it needs to be thicker. It's a learned talent. :)

I set the gate chains based on the stone type so I can spread it without gaps or piles hopefully. And I do need a helper since I don't use a remote gate release, but I get more distracted trying to watch for their hand signals than I do just guestimating my speed. :)
Ovrszd - I never tried wearing some younger guys clothes, but I suppose it's better to wear a younger man's clothes than a younger woman's clothes. ;)

I tailgate it off my dump truck.

Usually works quite well by the time I finish the project. Too bad I have to climb the learning curve again the next year.

I've wondered why I shouldn't have the gravel delivery person do that. I'm just not sure how much gravel I will need though.

Is there any consideration that this shaking method would be hard on the hydraulics? Would this not be very hard on the seals? I'm thinking of compression shock waves in the cylinders. :)

I was wondering the same thing about the loader valve as I watched the video.

Absolutely. :)

Pages of banter about a Youtube video and and nobody has even asked the important questions:

- Is Clara single?
- Isn't it a little cool out for a tank top? Or was this a summer job?
- What does Clara like to do when she's not slingin stone?

I assumed after slinging it, she likes to shake it. I could be wrong though.
