Sprint Cell Phones

I hadn't heard of Aerial before, so I did some quick checking, and you are correct. They were GSM, but of course Verizon converted the network to CDMA when they bought them.

I have found that Sprints idea of "nationwide" is a whole lot different than mine. I get so many "no service" and "digital roaming" that come Sept 15th it's bye bye Sprint. I'm planning on trying Cingular if it works at our home.

You had me curious. I guess I was half right. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif They were GSM, but they didn't get bought by Verizon. They were aquired by Voicestream which later became T-Mobile. So there system - if there is any of it left - is still GSM. That makes more sense.

So maybe I should have done more than a quick check! I just looked them up and confirmed they were GSM. I ASSumed that you had the part about Verizon right. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I guess that makes us both half right, or half wrong, or half something...

You're smarter than the average Sprint user. Sorry, I realize that may be considered damning by faint praise. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You might want to hold off on Cingular for another year or so. The integration of the two networks is a rough transition. It's not that they are a bad company, they just are in a rough spot right now. Of course, if your area isn't blending two networks, you'll probably be fine. Ask around a lot.

Being in the business, I get asked a lot who is the best, and the answer is, whoever is the best where YOU need to use their phone. Nobody is the best EVERYWHERE, and nobody is the worst everywhere.

Just remember that the easiest way to tell when a cellular salesman is not lying...

His lips aren't moving.
