Spyware?

Lately Zone Alarm has been telling me that my computer is attempting to contact Tractorbynet when I am not logged onto Tractorbynet. I never downloaded the spyware toolbar that you were pushing. Spybot and Adaware both show nothing. What's up?

Is my computer connecting to Tractorbynet when I'm not logged on? If so, what information is being sent back to Tractorbynet? Just like to know what my equipment is doing.

No. Cookies are just a files that store information on your computer for when you visit a website. Things like your password or if you have viewed a particular page or not (thus letting our site know if it should show you that page again or not). We don't spy on your computer.

Your computer should not be contacting TBN when you're not connected or browsing the site.

The only thing that I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is that some people have programs that will alert them if a site updates or changes. (You install it, define the sites, and it checks them periodically.)

If you have something like that, that may be doing it. But nothing we've done would make your computer try to connect to us on it's own.

Thats what raised my interest. I log onto my computer without going to Tractorbynet, IE surfing other sites. Zone Alert sends a message that my computer is trying to contact Tractorbynet. Don't know if Zone Alarm is having a delayed reaction. It's piqued my curiosity.

Perhaps your pc is having TBN withdrawls? or perhaps (aka hydro/gear) it's in debate with other pc's (surreptitiously of course) as to whether or not it's better to have a geared human (manual typing) or a hydro human (voice recognition).

Could our pc's be having these conversations about us behind our backs???
