Considering my previous connection was about 12-15MBPS, I'll take my new Starlink speed as a win.
They are unlikely to disappear, but their markets are already shifting. There are a variety of remote monitoring applications (IoT) that do ok with the geostationary satellites, though dish size can be an issue for some applications. The low data rates allow the geostationary providers to have more customers at lower bills. How long before all the geo satellite companies are gone? If other companies don't have Leo sats available Elon will have a monopoly.
I just saw an article that Echostar is on the verge of Chapter 11.How long before all the geo satellite companies are gone? If other companies don't have Leo sats available Elon will have a monopoly.
I just got my Starlink equipment yesterday. I'll set it up this morning.
Quick question on the phone app. Can it be controlled/monitored from multiple phones? The Starlink is in my name, but I travel a bunch, and my wife might need to check it too, when I'm away. Can we both download the app and have access?
