Well got my starter back , new solinoid , all new brushes cleaned internally and repainted, shop said as good as this [Grey] looked outside that how rusted it was inside. total price here in the land of everything costs arm & leg ....145 not bad i thougt compared to new. My only question is should i do anything pryor to installation? grease teeth or anything? hope this ends my problem, next i will be placing winter weight oil in unit. thanks to all for help

I don't grease teeth or anything near the flywheel as it has a unique way of finding the clutch disc. I do put a very small dab on the pilot bushing though.

I would make sure all the cable and wire ends are like new condition or replaced. With the oil change you should be tractoring this weekend /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
