starting/turing over issue

I can push my ym 2000 almost as easy as my little 42" (hydrostat)MTD mower. The ym2000 on concrete is still hard to push, i can push my ford ranger way easier on the same surface than the tractor.

I read somewhere that Powershift is designed to partly engage both the forward and reverse clutches when it is standing still, and getting moving raises the pressure to release the 'dragging' unwanted clutch. Per what I read, this is to counteract the tendency to creep that is inherent in this type of internal clutch packs. Can anybody quote where this is documented? Can it be adjusted?

This 'bound-up' feeling is quite noticeable on my YM186D, while the YM240 (YM2000) rolls as easily as you would expect for a manual transmission in neutral.

Makes sense. My friend has a Hydro JD 855. its hydrostat and different transmission than the Yanmar but is a yanmar made JD. ANY way my point is if you just take you foot off the GO pedal it will throw you over the steering wheel like you stomped the brakes, instead you have to slowly remove your foot. Im sure its something to do with the clutches to stop that fast!
