Steering wheel lock question

Not exactly a towing rig question, but it is about a truck . I asked on Trucksbynet, but received only one response .

This is gonna sound a little stupid . Do 2013 F150 XL 's have a locking steering wheel ? Bought my truck a few month ago and have never been able to get the steering wheel to lock . Once it seemed like it was tryin ' to, but not . Even my 03 Ranger had a lock wheel . Seems as though I may have to have it fixed .

I'm the guy who answered the same question by the same poster on TrucksByNet. I think the answer is no, they do not lock. Either they do not lock or my 2013 F150 STX has the same issue.
If I was really that concerned about it (and I'm not) there are F150 forums all over the internet. Check one of those out.

I have to say I never noticed if my 2012 fx4 locks or not but it is possible that they do not and just use the electric steering rack to lock the steering.

Here's a quote from an F150 forum:
"The way to get the wheel to lock is pull straight into a parking spot so the Ford emblem is able to be read from Left to right. Now turn the wheel (either direction while the engine is still running) so the Ford logo is upside down. Turn the vehicle off and remove the key the Steering column is now locked. This is different from some vehicles where the lock engages at 1/4 turn or 1/2 turn."
I just went out and tried it and it worked. The key here is to remove the key from the switch. With Ford logo upside down as noted above, the wheel would still turn with the key in switch.
So now sailorman has his answer and I stand corrected in my earlier post where I stated that I didn't think these things locked.
