Success!!! My final attempt took about 2-3 hours...
I bolted a grain truck dual tire/wheel assembly to the top of my dirt scoop and used that as a stationary die. I then fabbed up some clamps on the sides of the tire and pulled the sidewalls down with chains using the pallet forks/front end loader. I couldn't pull from the back side, so I had to rotate the tire 180 degrees and finish up the other side. In my opinion, the end result has a very nice shape.
Nice. I guess you were determined to geter done. What did you use to make the cuts with?
