Scissor Tail Flycatcher

These seem to like it on the power lines. We never see them anyplace else, just on the lines above the small pond.

Re: Steph\'s Nature Pics

Really nice pictures, Eddie; makes me want a new camera. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif In addition to the sparrows, we've had cardinals, doves, mockinbirds, and blue jays at our bird feeder this year. Oddly enough, I've only seen one robin this year and it was a couple of blocks from our place, and I've only seen one bluebird this year. But unfortunately, we've got a flock of grackles that have taken up residence in the trees across the backyard. I'm trying to discourage and run them off, but don't know how much luck I'll have.

Re: Steph\'s Nature Pics

Hi Bird,

We have a chart with all the birds we've been able to identify on our land and what month we see them. We're at 29 so far and know there's allot more than that here right now that we haven't been able to identify.

Two hawks for sure, but there's another, smaller faster one. We can hear an owl, but haven't seen any. We've seen two types of ducks, but there was a third in the pond one morning that we couldn't figure out what it was. We've only identified one type of sparrow so far. There are several birds in Tyler that we see, but none out here.

It's actually quite time consuming to figure it all out, but thankfully Steph just loves it!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Black Eyed Susan

These grow wild here. They are all over the place and are just amazing.

Whitetail Deer

These have to be about the smallest deer on the planet!! I'm no expert, but I'd say she weighs around 80lbs and her fawn was probably 20 pounds. They are just so pretty and even sexy looking.
