Hey all, has anybody added aftermarket steps to their X1100C?

My wife is short and needs some steps added to help her get up into the cab.

While we are on the subject has anyone welded in a hand grip on the drivers side like they have on the passenger side?

That would seem better than using the steering wheel grab all the time?

Thoughts?

And thanks in advance!

Touché.

I added a step to my old 1100 for my wife. Took it off when I traded it in for the x1100. It worked just fine but had to watch clearance over large rocks. I still have it if you want me to take a pic of it?

Yes please, thank you.

My concern is the mounting. Did you weld directly to the underside frame rail?

And did you use a small truck or jeep step and adapt it?

The step is from a Kubota tractor. It is one these hoop types that bolt on. Drilled mounting holes into existing support straps on the underside and bolted it on. Works very well and sturdy

That looks similar to my Deere one I put on my 2720. It is about 10.5" wide with a 5.75" drop and about 3.5" offset. The deere part number is LVU18332.

Take that hoop bar out next to the seat makes entry much easier

Thanks! I will have to fab up some type of mounting brackets to weld on to the outer frame rails to give me a place to bolt on steps.

The underside of the X1100C has the inner box frame but it is too far in to be useful. The outside rails are quarter round with a notch shaped and the unit has almost full coverage with underside pans. There is simply no place to bolt anything...

I looked at my x1100 and bolted in two 10 inch lengths of 2 inch angle iron and bolted the step to the angles. Did not have to weld anything

Yes it is flexible for sure. However it needs hang directly under the front edge to work best
