About 8 yrs ago we wanted to add a 1000sq ft addition to our 1000sq ft house, most of which is concrete block with foam sheets and drywall inside, fiberglass sheet (insulation)under board and batten outside. I wanted ICF but I would have had to drive 100miles to pick up the forms, then bring in a concrete pumper from the same spot. No local contractors or suppliers had ever used ICF, even the building inspector hadn't a clue.
Now most new homes in our area seem to be ICF, unless they are at the low end of the price scale, in which case they are 2x6 stick construction.......
