Stock battery is dragging after only 11 years

Deka must make good batteries... it's the OEM on my 2004 BX...

Wanna see what 'sulfation' looks like? Look at the white substance on the bottoms of these batteries, that's the lead powder forming on the bottom. When it gets bad enough, the battery will consume itself aka 'going negative'. When it gets bad enough, it's pronounced 'Thermal runoff' and you do NOT want to be around batteries when this happens! I'll share this picture of the sulfation, somewhere I have several pictures of the runoff situation, when I find them, I'll post one or two.

Sometimes...........disaster is the best teacher!

Found them! What a failed battery looks like, and another warning that you do NOT want to be there! Not likely to happen in an automotive type setting though, and that's a good thing. Gives you a good reason to exercise your batteries, doesn't it?
