Chipper Stop The Burn!! (New Jimna Chipper)

Daveinnh,

Should arrive in the next couple days. My friend who owns a home in Atlanta and one up here went to meet with the President of Salsco a couple weeks ago when they were in town for a business show at the World Congress Center. They just happened to have one on their trailer which he was able to see. My friend was so impressed with the quality and design that he went ahead and ordered one. They were in production and said it would be two weeks, and its that time. We were looking at several different units, and the Salsco was on top, and Jinma was close to the bottom, with several in the middle. After reading the different threads on the Jinma, maintenance was a problem with me.

I'll let you know after I have had it a couple days.

Hi all! I've got a Jinma chipper that I bought from KPX in Garden Grove CA. The unit has some safety changes that they have implemented with regards to disingaging the feed mechanism and raising the feed roller. I have about 20 hours on it and so far no complaints. One question I would like to ask you all knowing crowd is how much oil does the gearbox take? I changed the oil but what they call a sight glass is almost at the top of the box. In my experience this seems to much. Thanks!

Tell us about these safety changes. If possible, take and post a few pics of your chipper.

Garygadget ,the chipper from KPX is not a Jinma, its made by a different factory.I have seen a few with a foot petal feed release,a piece of plate in the feed chute opening that piviots on a hinge, ect.I think any added saftey feature is great no matter who makes it.As far as the oil level, you fill it to the site glass level mark ,thats why it is there. There are better chippers on the market with all the bells and whistles but most are at least double or triple the cost of the Jinmas. All the customers we have sold woodchippers too ,over 200 in the past couple of years say it was the best money they spent.Parts for the Jinma woodchippers are in stock and ship out the next day,Tractor Supply recently started selling them .Some people like Mercedes some like Fords they both get you to the same place.

The oil level should be center of the sight glass with the chipper setting level.

It takes right at 7 oz of gear oil.

I would like to put in a good word for Tommy of Affordable Tractor Sales.
I bought my Jinma Chipper from him on 13 January, Tommy gave me a 90-Day Parts Warranty. As I was reversing my blades and cutter bar for the first time, I found that the cutter bar was broken. After contacting Tommy with the news, he arranged to have a new cutter bar to be sent to me. It arrived in the mail today after just four days.
Thanks, Tommy.
It sure feels good when a business backs up its products and promises with prompt decisive action.

I started putting my chipper from KPX together today and the gear box was empty.I filled it to running over and still nothing shows in the sight glass. The manual that came with it says the info on the gear box is on a seperate sheet which I didn't get.Can you actually see oil in the sight glass on your machine?
Thanks Ji,m

My new Salsco 627XT chipper came in today, and after putting a couple squirts of grease in about half dozen places, hooking up the hydraulic feed, started chipping trees. After 45 minutes of feeding pines up to 6 inches, I was tired, but the chipper never slowed down. No belts to have a problem with, direct drive, adjustable speed on the hydraulic feed, what more could a guy ask for.

This unit is very well made.
