Chipper Stop The Burn!! (New Jimna Chipper)

DWD,

If you go back a few posts to my post on 2/7/2007, I have a link listed where a guy posted a review of his experence with the Jinma chipper. It was very informative, and may give you some tips in the maintenance and modifications to keep yours running.

I ordered a SALSCO 6" chipper, with hydraulic feed, as I didn't want to deal with the maintenance of the Jinma, and its made in the USA, but I'm also spending twice the money.

Best of Luck,

Les

I cut down 4 trees yesterday and chipped all the brush. It was the first real workout for my Jimna Chipper. It did a fantastic job. I'm impressed.

I'm a newbie to this site and decidedthat this was the chipper I wanted because of the info here.I contacted Affordable and Tommy estimated freight at $425 so I did a little more shopping.I found KPX in Az.that has a distribution center in Garden Grove,Ca.which is about 45 min. from my place so I called and talked to Alex and he said I could pick the unit up at Garden Grove and not have to pay sales tax plus he had a deal going so bottom line the unit ended up$1524 total.I figure on picking it up this week.

You will like the Jinma Chipper.
I am in the process of clearing brush and cedars in a 5 acre pasture. Other than the feed roller gearbox pulley coming loose three times (finally fixed that with some Locktite), chips and branches getting in with the feed roller belt, (destroying two belts and causing the belt to come off the pulley twice) it has done a fantastic job. I am in the process of building a guard to cover that large opening between the feed chute and the feed roller drive belt and pulleys. When it is finished and tested I'll post pictures and dimensions. There are a lot of Jinma Chipper owners out there.
Keep your RPM up (for my tractor that is around 2000) and you'll have no problem feeding anything to it.

Check your pulley, there are supposed to be 2 set screws in it, at 90 degrees offset. One of mine was missing, that really helsp keep the pulley on the shaft.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll check that out. I haven't noticed a second setscrew.
What are the specs for the setscrew just in case I also find out that there is one missing? I'll need to know what to buy.

Sorry, its been a busy week. I couldn't tell you the size or thread pitch (other than it is metric! ). I took the first one out, took it to the store and matched it up.
Good Luck

I went back and looked at my pulley. It has only one set screw. Wish it did have two. Your pulley must have been manufactured by a different subcontractor.

You could drill and tap your own, it would really help the situation out. If you have a local dealer have them check their parts stock, you might get lucky.
Best of Luck,

Smithla:

How has your Salsco chipper worked out? The website says the hydraulic feed operates off the PTO.

I have a Kubota L4310 (35 HP @ PTO).
