Quicksand, I only have about 8 hours on mine, so I'm not an expert and here is how I see it. Burning took a long time. Sometimes my piles took days to finally go out and I was always having to worry about something else catching fire.
Chipping is only slightly quicker. The nice thing that I see is you can do it whenever and at your own pace. It is slow progress where I'm working but it is woods and brush you couldn't walk through. Yards of chips from an area 10'X30', but again I don't think burning would be much faster and you have to keep the burn pile around a while before you get rid of it.
My main reason for chipping was threefold. 1, burning was too dangerous in the past 2 years, or anytime. 2nd, burning doesn't return much to the earth, chips do. 3rd, There's mice and rats living in those burn piles. I don't need to give them any extra accomedations.
Gino, I've heard of BBQ, coffee and bread made from mesquite, but never honey. How is that done? Shipping may be high to HI, but I'll send chips if you'll pay for shipping. They'd work better on a gas grill.
